Elizabeth POV Why is this man so obsessed with me. Or rather I guess obsessed with the power that comes with being royalty. I only learned hours ago my true identity and the thoughts of being royal are terrifying to me. I am just adjusting to a life with Carter. I cannot imagine anything else at this moment. “Mary said my brother is taking over from my father. That has already been decided. Nothing will change,” I say to everyone simply confused as to how all this works. “If you return, there is a chance you will inherit the crown as would be your right,” Carter says to me. “I do not want it,” I reply quickly. “That may be the case, but I think once we get everything figured out, we should reach out to your parents to let them know you are alive,” Carter suggests gently. I look at my hands folded on the table. I know he is right, but the thought of meeting them. The thoughts of them knowing what I went through all these years. The thought
Alpha Carter POV Everyone was on high alert travelling home. That Margie could access Elizabeth so easily reminded us just what we were up against. And that we could not let our guard down. I had Elizabeth pulled into the seat next to me. I wanted her as close as possible and could not wait to get her alone. “What time do you want to start getting ready tomorrow?” Kinsley asks. Elizabeth laughs, “Do we need a lot of time?” she questions. Kinsley whips her head around, “Uh yeah we do need a lot of time,” she says feigning being offended by Elizabeth’s lack of understanding of what would be involved in preparing for the ceremony. “It is alright Kinsley; I have everything arranged. The attendants will arrive at 11 am and your day is planned out for you,” I share with them both. Kinsley looks at me in surprise, “Thank you Alpha. Glad to see someone in this vehicle gets how important this is,” she says turning away but not before I caught the app
Elizabeth POV After a fitful night of rest, I woke early wrapped in Carter’s arms. When Carter told me about Fred’s death, I felt sadness. While I had been betrayed by the man, he had also been my father during my formative years. I did have some good memories of that time. For whatever reason they were good to me before they turned me over to Alpha Matt and Beta Carl. Carter was advised Mary was screaming in anguish over what had happened. She had been demanding Carter and I come to her, but we did not. I had nothing more to say to the woman. It was sad that her mate had died, but there was nothing I could do to help her. Carter indicated he would see her today while I was preparing for the ceremony tonight. That also had me on edge. Would anyone ruin it for us? Would I truly become Luna to this Pack? I could not believe it was happening, but it feels like it has been a long time coming. A small part of me still worried that it would be
Alpha Carter POV Stan and I had gone over the security for the day and evening. I wanted nothing to stand in the way of Elizabeth becoming my Luna. “I think we have everything covered, Stan,” I say. He nods, “We are more than ready for tonight,” he responds. “Do you want to go visit the dungeons with me?” I ask with a smirk. “Well, do I want to no, but will I, yes,” he says as we stand and leave my office. “I do not understand why he killed himself after everything they have done,” I say trying to make sense of the behaviour. “Unfortunately, I doubt you will get the answers you hope to find. Speaking with his mate may give some insight, I suppose,” Stan replies. We walk in silence considering what we are about to learn from Mary. We walk through and the guard’s nod. I take a key from the wall and walk towards the cell which contains Mary. Opening the door, I am shocked to see her lying on her bed with tears in her eyes. She glances to the
Alpha Carter POV As we walk down the hall and take the stairs down to the main lobby, we see Stan and Kinsley waiting for us. “You look beautiful, Elizabeth,” Kinsley says. Stan nods, “Stunning,” he adds. “As do you both of you,” I reply hold Elizabeth’s hand tightly. “Let’s get started,” I say to everyone. Stan and Kinsley walk through the open doors ahead of us. We wait a moment for them to get to the head of the aisle. I then look down at Elizabeth, “Ready to become my Luna?” I ask her. “I am more than ready,” she replies as she looks up at me. The love I feel for this woman is overwhelming. I kiss her lips gently before standing and opening the doors to the ceremony. We walk through the crowd of people. Everyone was excited to see their Alpha with his Luna. The Pack had high hopes for us and were excited to be part of the ceremony. As we walk through, I nod to Pack members as Elizabeth does to the ones on her side. Everyone feels spe
Elizabeth POV I was standing helplessly watching as Carter approached Tamara. As she was being escorted out of the ceremony hall, I caught the glint of something. I looked up and saw Alpha Matt standing there with his sights on Carter’s back. “Carter, look out!” I scream but it is too late. I see his body ricochet as the bullet hits him. He is trying to say something to me, but I cannot hear. I jump from the stage and race to his side catching him before he can fall. Instead, he falls into my lap. I see blood trickling out of his mouth. I put pressure on the wound on his back, screaming for a doctor. All the doctors are standing around me doing nothing. “What the hell is wrong with you all?!?” I scream as Alpha Matt moves forward. He is aiming his gun at everyone standing ready to help. “They are too afraid Luna,” he sneers at me. I nod to Stan to come and put pressure on the wound. He does so immediately. I stand and take a
Elizabeth POV I quickly drop the Alpha to the ground as Ashley bounds out of the hall and jumps into the mix of destroying rogues. I can see many running away, but those within our range are being destroyed as we encounter them. Most are in awe that they are seeing a silver wolf, much less that they are being killed at her hands. I see a couple rogues attacking one of my warriors. Ashley races over and rips one off her, ripping their head completely off. She then continues her attack helping warriors who have become injured during their fights. “We will focus on more training,” she murmurs in my mind as she continues to fight and help the warriors within the Pack to win the battle. As the rogue bodies accumulate, I look around for any injured wolves. I see one female down and I run over to check her injuries. I roll her body over and gasp. “Kinsley!” I scream as Stan comes running over. He picks her up and races to the Pack hospit
Elizabeth POV It had been a long night. Carter had slept fitfully. They kept administering pain medication, along with medication to counter the effects of the silver in his blood system. I was focused on being positive, talking to him, assuring him everything would be alright. The Pack doctor had been in multiple times to update me on the arrival of Dr. Thomas White. I wanted to know more about him but my lack of a phone and inability to really research left me at a loss. Most people would have already googled him. I did learn he works on both humans and wolves. Wolves is his specialty as he is also a wolf. It is rare to see a wolf working in the human world successfully, but he obviously makes it work. Hearing a flurry of activity, the door to Carter’s room swings open. I turn slowly, and I am surprised at the good looking, younger man standing in the doorway. He looks in the room, “I know. Many people expect me to be much older,” he sa
