Chapter 24: Lo & behold!
Ever since I returned back to work, things had not been going well between me and Nicholas. It was as if we were strangers, no more coming to get me out for lunch and no more paying me visits. He even stopped calling me.
Whenever I asked him what's going on he would tell me he's just being busy these days, and that he would make it up to me soon but he never did. At least not yet. I was hoping he would do that soon because I was already losing my mind.
A lot was running on my mind, you know? I was expecting to get all the care I needed but reverse happened to be the case. And that was already affecting me. My office was empty, no enquires...and practically nothing to do.
Today I decided to seek Nicholas's attention after our monthly staff meeting. Unfortunately, Lena and Kelly ruined my plan. They drew his attention to something else and when they left the conference room, I returned back to my office in anger.
