Chapter 23: Heartbroken

When yesterday my mom broke the news of my rape to me, I was dumbfounded. I broke into tears and began weeping. 

She told me everything and tried to calm me down but to no avail. Officer Mike also tried his best, and despite his promises to bring the culprits to book I just couldn't stop weeping. 

They told me Nicholas was shocked too, and that was why I didn't see him around. They also said he came and checked on me when I was in coma at the hospital. 

"He left heartbroken" My mom had said. 

"Yes, and in tears" Officer Mike had added.  

Their words made me to break down even more. I took my phone and called him but no answer, so I decided to drop a voicemail for him hoping he would call back later but that didn't happen.
