Ever since Stella returned back, a lot had changed. Before she came back, I never imagined I would ever think about bringing her back to my life but the moment I just saw her I couldn't help myself.
Of course I was willing to bring her back to my life but only if she was willing to tell me the truth about everything, and how she ended up being raped. Was it debt? How comes? Did she know they guys that did it to her?
Whenever I tried asking her question about the rape she would change the topic. She would tell me to forget it and would try as hard as she could to not say a word about it. And gradually, I became fed up.
Hence I approached Lena and asked her if she was really sure about all that she said because for some unknown reason, I was finding it hard to believe all that she told me ever since Stella returned back. And I was also finding it hard not to believe in the words the fact that Stella was obviously hiding something from me.
Today was another day at work. Lena welcomed me and then went out to get me a coffee. It was the work of my secretary but she took it upon herself to take good care of me since I was lonely. While checking the necessary files on my desk, she returned back with my coffee. She then handed it to me before sitting on the desk close to me. While staring at me, she smiled charmly. I took a sip from the coffee, added another one again... and again before taking a deep breath and smiling back at her. "This is wonderful, it's awesome. I love it. It's really sweet" I had commented. "Thank you sir, I actually made it myself" she had blinked sexily at me. "Nice, it tastes good. By the way, why the SIR when you could just call me by my name like you used to. I feel uncomfortable when people so close to me call me SIR" I had complained, taking another sip from the coffee. "Well, if you insist. I just want to see you happy
Few weeks after Stella left, she sent a resignation letter to us. When I glanced at it I felt a deep pain in my heart, I wasn't actually expecting such from her...you know? I was hoping she would come back after redeeming herself but reverse was the case. I called Lena's attention to the letter and she told me to sign it since that was what Stella wanted. And in less that twenty-four hours, I signed it and sent her an email approving her resignation letter. I also stated in the letter that a sum of five hundred dollars would be deposited to her account as payment for the days she worked with us before quiting the job, and another five hundred dollars as grant to help her settle her bills. That might not be enough to cover all her needs but I believed it was manageable. I arranged a meeting with some of our staff and then appraised them about her resignation. Some asked what happened while some murmured amongst themselves.
Ever since we merged our companies and became one, Kelly and I had been so dedicated to our work. We never had the chance to chitchat or converse about our personal lives, it was always about our company...and nothing more. We also never had the chance to spend time with each other even though we were buddies. Anyways, today I decided to check visit him in his house after work. It was a surprise visit and when he saw me, he was totally speechless. He stuttered while welcoming me into his house. There I met his children, Zion and Travis eating in the dining room. Kelly walked me straight to the dining room and served me as well, despite telling him I was okay. Well, in order not to look somehow to him and his children I decided to eat the food. "Angela is at work, right?" I asked about his wife, she was a surgeon in one of the prominent hospitals in the city. "Yes, she was called an hour ago" Kelly had replied. "Emergency, huh?" I had s
After returning back home from Kelly's house, I was welcomed humbly by Lena who was half dressed and enjoying her dinner in the sitting room. She hugged me tightly for few seconds before averting and asking how my drive was. I heaved a sigh and told her it was great, thus we walked over to the couch and fell in wearily. She then asked if I needed something to eat but I told her I wasn't hungry, but I would like to take something liquid. She asked if beer was okay but I told her wine would be perfect. Hence she pecked me, withdrew from the couch and then headed to the refrigerator to get a glass of wine for me. How she walked there was so appealing. Her big butts, hips, I couldn't help myself but smile. She knew I was watching her so she turned and gave me a wink as she took a bottle of wine from the refrigerator. She then walked towards one of the cabinets in the kitchen, took a glass cup and then walked back sexily to the sitt
On the day of my departure, I woke up as early as seven in the morning even though my flight was two o'clock in the afternoon. Reason was because I wanted to address some of my staff before I left. After preparing for work, I left – leaving Lena behind. She was actually yet to get herself prepared...and since I couldn't wait for her, I left. It wasn't as if she was against that anyways so I had nothing to worry about. As soon as I arrived at work, the first person to welcome me was the production manager. He was concerned about the increase in the production of our daily papers, from six hundred thousand copies to seven hundred and fifty thousand a day. Actually, we had increased our production in response to the high demand from people. That's great, right? Well some staff weren't happy about it. They showed concerned about the high increase, saying we might just end up manufacturing things we can't sell. The production manage
After addressing some of my staff, I bade them goodbye and left... en route to the airport. Lena, Kelly and Alex were the only ones I allowed to follow me. I never wanted the general public to know I was leaving, you know? In order to avoid creating a scene in the airport. Anyways, my plan of having little or few escorts didn't really help. Those that recognized me as the CEO of DailyExpress came asking for selfies, autographs... I didn't even know when I left the terminal to the washroom. I was so not ready for any kind of disturbance, I disliked it when people point me out in public and start disturbing. Hopefully, the passengers of our flight were summoned and Lena texted me. I came out of the washroom, bade them goodbye and hugged Lena before leaving. She had wanted prolonging our hug but I had to go. When I was finally in the plane, I sent a text message telling her I would call her as soon as our
"Son, you should have asked your ex about the debts before taking any action on her. Your present might have forged everything just to end your relationship with your ex, so she could be with you in the end" the old man had continued, "I might not hundred percent correct but I am very sure there is more to what your present told you. Just make sure you are not on the wrong side of the track else, you might end up regretting and by then it would be partially too late..." He continued talking while I listened. Somehow, a part of me believed in what he was saying while the other part of me believed whatever I did was right and that Lena wasn't a backstabber or a betrayer. But wait a minute, why had she not been in touch with Stella ever since everything changed between us? Or had Stella shunned her away? I had mulled over. I kept thinking about what the old man told me until finally, our plane touched down at Vinewood Regional Airport. The old man intr
When we arrived home, Mr. Anderson parked the car in the garage. Mom and Elizabeth helped conveyed my luggage into my old room which was looking amazing. It had been cleaned and perfectly set for me. One amazing thing is that I could perceive the fragrance of my favourite perfume, which means someone must have bought the same type and spread it around the room for me. Even though some of my things that I left in the room were no where to be found, I was glad to have their replacements. My bed had been replaced too, same also my bedside tables and closet. My curtains were replaced as well. "Do you like your new room?" Elizabeth had asked, pulling me out of my trance. "New room? This ain't new" I had muttered, walking towards my bed. "Yes but at least it looks new, right mom?" she had turned over to our mom. "Elizabeth please, allow poor Nichol to rest. He's tired, can't you see how exhausted he looks"
