Chapter 51

I heard roosters waking up all the people at the orphanage. I woke up with a great feeling. So it's the feeling of waking up here in the Philippines. It's literally amazing.

I opened the window and saw some of the kids cleaning the surroundings. Some of them are watering the plants, and others are sweeping the ground.

I see well-disciplined children, and it made me smile like my heart was already caught by this place.

“Veronica, we are not here to sleep like oil. It's not a great idea to lay down above the bed while the sun wakes up before you. More than that, we are here, not as guests but as helping hands and support individuals this week for the orphans.”

I rolled my eyes. “I'm already awake, Kalvis.” I sighed deeply. It's early in the morning, and I am offended because of the way he said the word “orphans.” It seemed he was trying to imply that the children have nowhere to go and no hope to see because they have no parents looking for them.
