"Ava, do you think I'm blind? Do you think I can't tell when two people are flirting? I saw your dad and your best friend, Charlotte, at the bar, laughing uncontrollably," Brenda said, as they sat in the living room. She paused, keeping her gaze fixed on Ava.

"Don't say anything. You're making me angry," Brenda interrupted.

"But you haven't let me say anything again," Ava protested.

"I don't want you to say anything anymore," Brenda said, and walked towards her room angrily.

"What did I do now?" Ava wondered, still confused by her mother's anger.

"I only suggested that if you were sure they were behaving the way you suspected, you should have approached them and let them know you saw them. My point is, why can't my mum approach them? Instead of just standing at a distance and accusing Charlotte and my dad. She didn't even give me a chance to explain. Just because she has feelings for my dad doesn't mean any woman with him is involved romantically. How
