"It All started when his mother left." That definitely piqued my interest. "Noah's home wasn't exactly perfect, nor was it peaceful.

"Pfft." I scoffed. That didn't justify anything. " I don't know if you overheard me and my mum, but I don't think that's a valid excuse."

"It's not." A solemn expression fell on Ethan's face. He stared ahead, like he was gazing at something only he could see. " If you knew his parents you'd understand what I mean."

"And you do?" I didn't know when it slipped out. If it wasn't so laced with sarcasm, I wouldn't have been bothered. But it was, and Ethan picked up on it too. " I'm sorry, it's just.."

"I get it." He cut me off, gently. " Everyone thinks he's such a monster, no one wants to see things from his point of view. It's sad honestly, but I was there with him and I understand him..I'm not saying he's right but it's not entirely his fault."

"That's going to take me a long time to believe." I whistled and Ethan let out a small laugh. " He'll have to…."
