I was looking at Mom and Melinda laughing.

" Oh, is that so," mom said looking from me to Melinda, "Sometimes I don't understand what you children of nowadays are saying," mom said smiling.

" So the both of you are planning a surprise for me, but I am not meant to know about it" I said more like a statement than a question.

" Oh no, not the both of us, it's just her," Melinda said.

" Then what did you write in that," I said pointing at the piece of paper oh her hand.

" What is what?" Mom asked not looking up, again.
