Chapter 32: An Internal Dispute

DARIAN’S POV

“I don’t want to wear a veil on my birthday,” Elva cried in my arms. “I’m trying my best, Darian. Why can’t I just shift for once?”

“I’ll clock twenty soon. There has never been a late bloomer who stayed up to twenty before finally being able to shift. Am I cursed?!”

I wrapped my arm over her shoulder, hoping to bring comfort to her spirit. Then I whispered to her, “It will all be fine, Elva. There’s still hope.”

Last night was the most embarrassing moment of our lives. The king’s words came harsh on both of us. If only I had known that he would lose his temper to the extent of using those harsh words on his own daughter. To make matters worse, the queen was also on his side.

“There’s nothing we can do about this, Darian. Just admit it. I’m not a werewolf,” She said, sniffing back some tears that were about to burst out.
