Chapter 39: The Silver Wolf's Blood

ELVA'S POV

"Your father has given me only a week before he makes his conclusion," Mum said amidst tears. "I don't know what to do if he ends up requesting that you get thrown away. I'm so sorry, Elva."

Her hair was a mess. She had been crying all night in my room. Her face looked worn out and her eyes bloated.

It was all yet to come clear to me — how I wasn't Father's child. The blood test back when I found myself here had proved that we had the same blood. How could he say now that I wasn't his child?

"Mum, I request another blood test!" I said with boldness.

"You don't understand," she bickered, "Even if a blood test shows that you have the same blood with him, for the fact that you have the Silver Wolf's blood, he won't count you as his own."

"This isn't right, Mum," I cried, "How could you let this happen? All this while, I've been thinking that I'm finally where I'm supposed to be. But look at this now."
