Chapter 47: The Curse of the Echoing Mountain

ELVA'S POV

The next morning, I woke up to the sound of the echoing mountain. Its ethereal melody traveled throughout the landscape. Everyone else was already awake, gazing toward the mountain just some meters ahead of us.

We started to dismantle the tents and pack every other thing we had come with. We needed to cross the mountain as quickly as possible because it was the main abode of the mountain wolves. But whenever the mountain had begun singing, they don't attack the passers-by.

Quickly, everyone got into their carts and the horses rode off, heading for the mountain.

It was very captivating — the sound from the mountain.

Myth had it that the daughter of the first mountain wolf was inside the mountain, singing. She had died at a little age. And when she died, she was singing a soft melody, even after her death.

There were only a few believable myths I knew, and this wasn't among them. But the other myth about the mountain was what I desperately wanted to know.
