Chapter 50: The Brave Intruder

DARIAN'S POV

Ashley returned some minutes later. Her father was with her. It seemed he had rounded up with the work he was doing back then.

"Please forgive me, young men," he said to us, "I'm such an ethical man that I don't abandon someone else work just so I can quickly grab a new one."

"I understand," Japhet said with a tight-lipped smile. "I respect that."

Japhet and Mr. Cortgard began to discuss the construction plans and the price as well. I didn't have much to contribute to the conversation, so I decided to go out for some fresh air.

"Follow him, Ashley," said Mr. Cortgard to his daughter, "just don't forget to come to call me whenever I have an appointment."

"Okay, Dad," she said and gracefully marched out with me.

We had gone a few meters away from the bar when I decided to ask her about the book she had with her.

The moment I asked her, she clutched it fast to her chest as if some precious jewel was inside there. Then she answered me, "It's just my father's appointment book.

It feels like u have missed a huge chunk of the story I was getting ready to read about the battle to see what Japhet was like as a fighter then suddenly 3 days later they have houses so he must of won but as a reader I feel we should of at least read about the battle even if it was a short battle
