Chapter 98: A Set-Up

ELVA'S POV

A month later, Demian visited the Haelstrom kingdom. When he learned of my breakup with his brother, he was disappointed, but he understood that it was for the best.

Jeffrey had constantly been visiting the Haelstrom pack, expecting me to welcome him open-handed. However, I was yet to get over Darian, so I didn't give in to his silly game.

I'd resisted Jeffrey for two weeks more until he suddenly came one day when I was sick. I suddenly fainted that afternoon. When I woke up in my room, I saw him seated in a chair beside my bed, sleeping with his head thrown back and his mouth open.

I was surprised to see him. He usually visited during weekends when he was less busy. But it was a weekday and he was meant to be busy with his duties to their pack.

I tapped him on his lap, "Jeffrey."

His eyes opened and he blinked repeatedly before setting his gaze on me.

"You're awake, Elva," he was excited.

"Yeah. What are you doing here? In my room?" I asked.
