The bed dipped as I curled closer to him. I felt Shawn’s warmth radiating against my side. The rain was still pouring outside.

His finger skimmed mine, sending a spark dancing in my arm. I hated the way I reacted to his touch but it already dawned on me that my body was beyond my control when Shawn was around.

I met his gaze which was firm but halted too. It was then that I realized he was waiting - Waiting for me to take the lead. And suddenly, the weight of that responsibility settled on my chest.

I had to obey though. If I wanted Shawn to feel safe around me, to feel like he had found a temporary companion in me, I needed to do everything he wanted. Sex was the price and I sure as hell don't mind paying.

As long as I won in the end.

I climbed on top of him and met his gaze. There, I found a flicker of something. I knew what it was because I had found it in my own eyes when I stared at the mirror too.
