Luther And His Father At Loggerheads

LUTHER'S POV

For some seconds that seem like an eternity, my father stared at me in disbelief.

"Luther, is the Whitney Stanford different from the one I know?" Dad asked with shock in his voice.

"No, Dad. She is the same Whitney Stanford that you know," I replied bluntly.

"Do you mean the Whitney Stanford that was my former maid that ran away from home?" he asked with an incredulous expression.

"Yes, Dad."

"Are you out of your mind? What the heck are you saying? How could Whitney have a baby with you? That is not possible," Dad said with disbelief.

"Dad, I know you are in disbelief. I was also in disbelief when I got the news just like you and Mom when I told her. She even fainted when I dropped the bombshell," I said.

My father was silent for a moment as he gazed at me in utter perplexity.

"Luther, are you sure you are alright? I hope your distress has not affected your mental health," he said.

"Dad, there is nothing wrong with me. I am alright," I said.
