Luther's eyes swept over Alpha Vicker's warriors and his security guards who were lying on the floor bleeding profusely and groaning in pain. He smiled with satisfaction and told Trey, one of the warriors with him to get the key to the gate from the security guards and open the gate to let the other warriors outside the gate come inside. Luther was exhausted and he was all bloody. His shirt was soaked in blood as he limped to the staircase. A trail of blood from the wound on his leg followed him. It is notable to mention that from the moment he stepped into the hallway, he deliberately used his body to obstruct Jason's view so that he would not see Alpha Vicker. For some seconds, Whitney and Alpha Vicker cuddled before they disengaged. "Why were you unconscious?" Whitney asked with curiosity. "Luther and I fought fiercely and he hit me with that sculpture on the floor, and I fainted," he said as he pointed at the sculpture. "Oh my goodness! He could have killed you. Whitney was filled with rage as she sped down the well-lit highway due to the pole light. Aside from that, the full moon's pale light illuminated the whole place. She drove past a few cars that had parked by the side of the highway due to the storm and the thick fog which had worsened. Considering how severe the storm and fog were, there was no way anyone could drive in the weather which made Whitney to be a little bit relaxed cos she believed Luther must have parked by the side of the road. As Whitney drove, she saw various items on the highway such as shrubs, grasses, cans, and other things blown by the wind, and on both sides of the highway, there were fallen trees that had been uprooted by the fierce wind. WHITNEY'S POV The full moon and stars in the sky illuminated the whole place and the pole lights on both sides of the highway shone brightly making me see everything clearly. The smell of charred bodies filled the air as I watched Luther's car burn with fury in my eyes. I thought Luther was in the burning car and didn't know that he fell out of the car into the ditch and lost consciousness. After a couple of minutes of gazing at the burning car as I was still levitating, I turned around to look at the charred bodies and bones of the warriors burnt to different degrees. SIX MONTHS AFTER WHITNEY'S POV On a weekend, six months after sparing Luther's life and a month after Jason turned seven, and had a grand birthday party, I was sitting on my bed in the room and I was packing my bags and my kids' bags. The time was 8:30 am. I was going back to Montgomery with my three kids after seven years of living in Nashville without seeing my parents and my brother. Rachel, my kids' nanny was dressing my kids up in their room and Alpha Vicker went to the parkhouse very early in the morning to resolve an issue.
