39: Jealous Man

“You haven’t met your mate? Then why did they say you rejected your mate,” I wonder if he made it up himself to become more ruthless in the eyes of people to remind them he was someone they shouldn’t cross.

“Beaumont made it up. I wanted to get rid of those mamas who wanted to wed their daughters to me and it was the idea he came up with.”

I chuckled, thinking how ridiculous Beaumont’s idea was. “You really don’t care about your reputation, do you?”

“I’ve got more important matters to deal with. It’s the least of my concerns.”

“Lucius Voss, the unbothered alpha.”

The music ended. I took a seat away from those ladies who were eyeing me and grabbed a glass of refreshment. Lucius was cornered by a few older men, leaving me alone in where I sat.

Beaumont suddenly went to me.

“Hey, you bored?” he asked, holding a glass of wine. He danced with a few girls earlier that was why I wondered why he had no one by his side now.

“Not really,” I shook my head. “I enjoy watching them,” I said
