Despite her reservations, she knew she had no choice but to comply if she wanted Francis to leave.
After a moment, she returned with a plate containing a delicious-looking sandwich, which she placed in front of him. Francis's smile widened as he eagerly picked up his utensils.
Taking a bite, his expression immediately changed to one of disappointment. The taste didn't live up to his expectations.
“Honestly, your dish sucks,” said Francis honestly, aware that this would likely be their final meeting. "I'm hesitant to drink the water, fearing you might poison me. Have a sip first."
