But Gavino would not choose to help Rio yet for he knew they need to be sure that he has a chance to defeat the Alpha or else anyone who would try to interfere in the fight and help Rio would be considered a traitor, and if he loses to Dante then their plan would all go to waste.The elders of the sect knew about this too and as always, they stayed still and waited patiently as the tension is becoming intense. These people are always playing safe. They are like hyenas and vultures that would watch the predator as it chases its prey before entering the scene and snatch the kill.
This situation is different though. It is not about a predator trying to take on its prey but it is being challenged by another predator

It was already dark when Guillermo and Leonard arrived at the tobacco plantation. He was welcomed by the natives in their community inside the Flavell's property. Rio was already awake, he went downstairs and saw Gavino talking to the other sect members, carefully inspecting the possible area that can be used as an opening through the fortress of Dante. Though outnumbered from the start, Dante's men managed to cope up with their enemy. Rio knew that Gavino will soon receive Dante's wrath any moment from now. He tries to push himself as close as he can but to no avail, these Lycan armies are well trained and would not back down from him that easily.
