Chapter 7: Her Consequences

Suddenly, there was a knock at my office door. Lindsay walked in, looking hesitant and shuffling her feet. It seemed as though she had just realized the gravity of her previous actions.

"Miss Lindsay Anderson," I started, my voice colder than intended. The chilliness echoed in the room, ringing like a stern warning. She jumped slightly, her eyes wide with anticipation.

"Sir Maverick," she started, attempting to inject her usual confidence into her shaky voice.

Putting her off, I said, "Your actions have caused the company chaos. Not to mention putting someone's name in a bad light."

"You think I did it?" Her face turned ashen, and the corners of her mouth dropped.

"We've seen the footage, Lindsay, and it's you. I've always believed in giving credit where it's due, Lindsay," I said, my tone firm. "And it's time you learned the consequences of your actions."

"What? No! That's not true, Mr. Hauss! I wouldn't do such a thing." Her eyes widened as the reality of my words sank in.
