Gab’s POV

I did not expect Cody would be bold to act the way he did while inside the well-guarded area of Marco’s property. I sensed something was weird as soon as we arrived and stepped out of the vehicles without seeing the head of the security team in the mansions. But then that wasn’t enough to jump into conclusions, so I had to ask what he meant when Cody said they dealt with the intruders already.

“Where is Josh?”

I tried to hide any expressions on my face that I was having any doubt of his words. The sound of excitement in Cody’s tone was one thing to ponder on for me, adding to it was the location he mentioned where Josh, the supposed to be senior among security people in this place, was instead of coming out here to receive my arrival.

At all costs, Josh, just like every other team leader, would have to come out and be the one to give the rundown on everything that was going on, or anything that may have occurred before someone with higher authority arrives at the place. I
