I swallowed hard, not knowing how to respond to Leo's mother who had been looking from my parents to me, her eyes demanding an explanation for the question she earlier asked.

My mother had this sick lopsided smile on her face that showed she didn't even know where to start to explain, and my father was probably still trying to bring the nitty-gritty of his words together.

"Ma'am, I'm so sorry you had to hear this."

"Of course, you have to be sorry when I tell my son about all this going on." She snapped at me before I even finished.

My mother made to say another word but Leo's mother was already leaving before my mother got the chance to say a word.

I glared at my mother. "Couldn't you have just kept your drama away from here till the next day?" I shook my head in disappointment while folding my arms across my shoulders and made to walk away. She dragged me back by the hand and this time, her petting facade fell off.

Her face was ugly with a frown, she gave me a pointed look.
