CHAPTER 13

I had arranged for people to report the break-in of rogues. For one, I have lived with Damien for years and I knew just how much he hated and feared rogues.

To him, the break-in of rogues into a pack's border meant that the pack was weak.

In fact, I even heard him mocking a neighboring pack for their inability to ward off rogues.

Rogues posed a challenge to his authority and that was exactly what I wanted to happen.

The guards that had rushed into his room were bearing tales of how those rogues broke in on their mouths just as I had planned. Raising an alarm was on my list of weapons of distraction.

I had done that so that in the meantime, Damien would be so disorganized and distracted that he wouldn't even think about me for the rest of the day. I had paid the rogues and gave them a means to have their entrance into this pack earlier.

My gaze diverted to the door of my room and I frowned in concentration. Someone was knocking there. I got up and went to the door.

"Hello, there." I
