CHAPTER 28

AVA:

Stopping right in front of my cell was Damien. I watched him take his last stride before standing in front of me.

"My Alpha. Damien. Please, let me go." My voice cracked as I spoke.

I cocked my head to the side, my eyes pleading with him.

He remained silent and continued staring at me, causing me to wonder what could be on his mind.

"Why would you do this to me huh? Damien, aren't you seeing that I'm suffering? I'm really suffering, Damien, please let me go." I said, using the last bit of strength in me. I hadn't eaten in three days and it was starting to take a toll on me.

Why couldn't Damien see through my pain? Why did he have no remorse at all?

Immediately after I spoke, he drew out a leather whip from behind him and then a bunch of keys.

I gasped and began moving back in fear. I didn't know I feared pain this much after what I had gone through in the past. Perhaps, the past was really behind me.
