I laughed dryly as I watched Danny sit there, his body stiff from shock. He leaned forward, his face very close to mine, his eyes wide.

"What?" I had to laugh, because the expression his face was really funny.

"You're pregnant? But how is that possible? You just moved here a few weeks ago and last time I asked, you didn't have a mate, or… didn't want to talk about your mate…" He stopped. "...you're sleeping with someone else." He wiggled his eyebrows.

I burst out laughing. It was weird how close Danny and I had gotten in just a space of almost a week. He was a carefree person and exactly what I needed in my life at that moment. He was like a ray of sunshine in my dark hell hole of a life.
