Chapter 2 : Seraphine Dumitrese

Riel, Sera's bodyguard, arrived at Sera's room. He was a twenty-five-year-old man.

"Miss, you really brought a slave into the room?" Riel looked worried.

Sera didn't care. She took off her jewelry and sat in front of the mirror.

"Miss, if Mr. Dumitrese finds out, you'll be in trouble. After all, you're getting married soon." Riel did not give up. He had to remind Sera, as it was his duty.

"Why is that? I just called him to my room." Sera cleaned her face.

Riel sighed. Everyone knew why Sera had brought a man into her room. But this was the first time she had summoned a slave.

"Miss, please just listen to me this time," Riel pleaded.

"Come out. I'm not in the mood for weapons right now," Sera said calmly.

Riel gulped. If that threat was coming, it meant the woman really didn't want to be bothered. He lowered his head and left. He had to strategize how to keep Tudor from knowing what Sera was doing.

Riel called Hoper and James to take over the slave.

"Take him as quietly as possible. Don't let Mr. Dumitrese know." Riel looked at the two men who were about the same age as him. The three of them were Sera's bodyguards, but Riel had more authority to enter Sera's room without special orders.

"Are you serious? The banquet is about to begin," Hoper said.

"You know Ms. Dumitrese," Riel replied. No one could argue with the woman's wishes.

***

Seraphine Dumitrese, the beloved youngest daughter of Tudor Dumitrese. The third child, after Winston and Gerald. Her least favorite thing is rejection. Since childhood she has had the whole world at her feet because of Tudor's affection. She is used to looking down on everyone except her family.

She punished servants and slaves who displeased her. It was common for her attitude to lead them to the pit of death. Nevertheless, the woman saw it as a natural occurrence. They all had to satisfy her.

Among the boring things in Sera's life, there was one that caught her attention. At the age of ten, Sera was allowed to enter the slave area. She intensified her feelings of dominance and superiority at that point. She saw such a handsome boy kneeling there, among dozens of slaves.

Sera learned that the slave's name was Amos. Only Amos. Slaves don't have last names. But after that day, Sera paid special attention to Amos. The boy's eyes were light gray, with fair skin for a slave, and that gaze, that hopeful gaze. So radiant.

Sera wanted to possess Amos, but Tudor forbade it. He forbade her to step near the slave area again. And gave special orders to the guards not to let Sera enter the slave fort.

But now, the slave was out.

It wasn't Sera who let go of her target. She specifically asked Riel to provide information regarding Amos. And today, Riel told her that Amos was being punished by Benedict, likely to be killed. It's a lucky thing she came in time. In order to save the slave, she had to leave early from the party.

Damn, Sera muttered, staring at the beautiful face in the mirror. But her mind was drifting. A smile graced her lips.

Amos groaned in pain as Hoper and James pulled his arm across the cold floor. His eyes were closed.

"Don't make a sound," Hoper warned. Amos didn't dare make the slightest sound. He only felt the white cloth he wore after bathing, now clinging to the wounds. It was very painful. Moreover, they pulled his arms roughly. His legs were still sore from the previous binding.

Hoper and James didn't care. Their mission was to bring Amos as quietly as possible without the knowledge of Tudor and the other family members.

"The banquet is in an hour. We must hurry." James whispered to Hoper.

Amos estimated that they had to leave before the event. That meant, would he be released after that? Or was that the exact moment of his death?

"Ah!" groaned Amos as his body was violently thrown to the floor. His hands, which were bound by the chain in front, could not help him hold his body.

He couldn't see anything. He hurriedly sat down on his knees. No matter where he was, a slave was the same. He heard the sound of footsteps moving away, then the sound of the door closing.

After that, there was silence.

Amos heard the pounding of his own heart. Where was he? What had happened? Was he left alone?

But then, there was the sound of shoes approaching. Slow and steady.

Amos clenched his fists. The chains that bound his hands jangled. His heart beat faster.

The sound of shoes was so close, he was sure there was someone in front of him right now. He could feel the heat on his face. Warm breath. Then, with a jolt, his blindfold came off.

Amos quickly looked up, staring at the figure in front of him. His eyes instantly widened when he saw Seraphine.

He hurriedly looked down. Afraid.

"Do you know who I am?" The soft voice sounded demanding.

Amos nodded slowly.

Sera squatted down, letting the thigh slit in her dress reveal her slender legs. She scrutinized Amos' face like she was scrutinizing an item before buying it.

Amos was used to the treatment, so he choose not to move. But, when those delicate hands traced his slender neck, his body instantly stiffened.

Amos caught the small smirk on the woman's lips. But he dared not stare.

Sera then stood up quickly. She asked for a man who had waited for orders.

"Riel, open the chains!" Sera leaned in, giving the order.

Riel looked doubtful. "Miss, I can't do it. What if he hurts you?"

"Riel, I won't ask twice. Open the chains." Sera looked impatient.

Amos didn't know what he would do if he was free. One thing was for sure, he wouldn't dare to mess with her. Once again, his attitude determined the fate of many slaves. He knew that. Sera seemed to understand that well.

Riel then approached, taking out the handcuff key he had gotten from Hoper. Then, he opened the chain cuffs on Amos' hands. Amos was quickly pressed to the ground by Riel after that.

Amos looked up, wincing in pain, resisting Riel's strong hand pressing on his neck. He was suffocating.

"Don't mess with Ms. Dumitrese, or you know what the consequences will be for you, as well as the slaves," Riel warned.

Amos said nothing. He just nodded. He wouldn't do anything crazy that caused trouble this time.

Afterward, Riel let go of his hand. Amos coughed, holding his sore neck.

Sera looked at the male slave. So sweet.

"Come out!" Sera ordered Riel.

Riel looked at Amos once more, before nodding at Sera and walking out.

Amos clasped his hands and looked down. Sera caught his attention as she walked towards a bed.

There was silence after that.

"Take off your clothes." The soft voice startled Amos.

Amos said nothing. He pulled up the clothes that were covering his body. Only a single garment covered his top and bottom. And there was nothing underneath the clothes.

So now Amos sat on his knees without a single thread. His gaze was still downcast.

A big smile spread across Sera's face as she surveyed the handsome figure. Amos' body was very well maintained because he was used to working hard, and therefore his muscles were built up. His chest was broad, and his arms looked muscular.

A strong and handsome man, but so obedient, so sweet.

"Come here!" Sera's voice came back.

Amos stood up and stepped slowly closer.

"Closer."

Amos felt his chest pounding even more. Hesitantly, he stepped closer. They were only a meter apart. He could see her legs crossed in front of him, displaying her beautiful thighs. He tried not to look at her, but he couldn't in such close proximity.

"Are you deaf? I said get closer." The woman's voice was getting fierce.

Amos hurriedly stepped closer until his legs were touched the woman's knees. His hand covered his dangling genitals. However, Sera quickly jerked his hand away.

"Don't move."

Amos clenched his hands in front of his thighs, looking down. What did that woman really want?

Amos dared not move, nor stare. He just waited. Then, he felt Sera's hand grabbing his hand. He stung a little. But she pulled his hand tighter.

His hand was repeatedly turned over and over while Sera watched. She felt the rough strokes on the palm, as well as the muscles on the back of Amos' hand. The tanned tips of the fingers, the broken nails. Truly, she had never seen such unkempt hands.

Amos hurriedly withdrew his hand, but Sera shot him a glare. Amos immediately looked down.

"Did I tell you to move?"

Amos was silent. Sera pulled on the man's hand again. This time Amos did not dare to pull it away, letting her continue rubbing it.

"Sit down," Sera ordered gently.

Amos immediately sat with his feet on the floor. However, the woman immediately clucked. "Sit here!" Sera pointed at the bed next to her.

Amos stood up, hesitantly looking at Sera. Was she really asking him to sit on a bed that was strictly forbidden for slaves to touch? But, seeing the woman's impatient gaze, Amos just shut up and obeyed. He carefully sat there, only his buttocks touching the edge of the soft bed, slightly. He was afraid Sera would become berserk and ruin the place.

But Sera stood up, pushed his body to sit properly, and then the woman headed to a cupboard, retrieving something. Afterward, Sera asked Amos to sit sideways.

Amos was confused by the woman's request, but he complied. Until he felt the soft touch of Sera's hand on his back. Quickly, he moved away. What was she doing to him?

"No, Miss!" Amos was frightened. He was already standing away from Sera. He saw that her hand was smeared with something. It was clear and lumpy.

"I'm just applying medicine to your wound. Come here!" Sera ordered again.

Amos shook his head. "No, I'm fine, Miss. Please forgive me, let me go back to the slaves' quarters."

"I will not let you go. You must serve me tonight. I will not let your wound interfere with your service."

Amos gulped. What kind of service was Sera asking for? Could she be asking him to do something dangerous as punishment? If so, he needs to be prepared to die.

"Come here!" Sera repeated impatiently.

But Amos did not dare. He chose to kneel on the floor. He didn't want to get into too much trouble by sitting on that comfortable-looking bed.

Sera chuckled, but then she relented and rubbed the wound on Amos' body carefully.

Moments later, Amos felt the scar on which the medicine was applied react. His skin felt like it was on fire. It was very hot and painful.

Amos stifled his moans of pain, but the pain was unbearable. He bent down on the ground in an effort to reduce the pain. But the burning was getting worse.

"Arghh! It hurts, Miss!" he squealed. His hands were trembling from the pain that exceeded the whipping itself, until it seemed to penetrate to the bone. He continued to moan in pain like a dying dog. His body writhed on the floor. His nails clawed at everything. Sweat drenched his entire body.

Sera sat quietly watching the slave wriggling like a worm in heat on the floor. The medicine was indeed very strong. A miracle drug that could seal any wound. But it was indeed a challenging process. She appreciated the fact that Amos could still refrain from screaming.

Half an hour, which felt like a century to Amos, finally passed. As he held his body to his knees, he felt the pain begin to subside. His face was deathly pale, sweat dripping down his face. But, after a few minutes, he saw the wounds on his body disappear. There was no trace.

Amos stared at his body in amazement. How could this have happened?

Amos was surprised when Sera wiped sweat off his face.

He hurriedly pulled the cloth away and looked down. "I'll do it myself, Miss."

Amos hurriedly wiped sweat off his face and body. He then looked up at Sera who was sitting on the edge of the bed. "Thank you, Miss."

"I don't need your thanks, I need your service."

Amos nodded obediently like a slave. "Yes, Miss. What can I do for you?"

"Come here, lie down over there," Sera ordered pointing to the bed.
