THE CURSED PLAINS.

The gang broke free of the gloomy, depressing Forest of Shadows and into the wide-open Cursed Plains, with Kyra leading the way.

The smell of rotting flesh permeated the air, and the ground beneath them seemed to tremble at any second. Selene, Marcus, and Eldon trailed close behind, all of them on high alert.

Eldon looked at the parchment, scowling, "The map suggests that the next fragment is somewhere in these plains." “But it's not really clear where it is. This region is renowned for its dynamic topography."

With a nod, Kyra scanned the horizon. "We must exercise caution. This location is well known for its illusions and traps."

Marcus's eyes narrowed as he tightened his grasp on his blade. "And the living dead. Remember the undead."

The mention of the undead made Selene shiver, her blade hilt lying in her hand. “We are not new to them. Anything that comes our way, we can manage."
