Alexander’s Pov

My eyes were shut, even if I was still widely awake. Despite how hard I tried to sleep, knowing that I had her beside me made it futile.

I stirred slightly and finally opened my eyes to gaze at her. She still laid there, with her head facing the ceiling and her eyes widely opened.

For a moment, I thought I was only hallucinating, but the more I stared at her, the more I realized that she was indeed awake.

“You are still awake?” I asked, causing her to jerk up in fright.

Everything about her completely amazed me and for some reason I couldn’t decipher, I felt drawn to her. This particular reason made me stay away from taking advantage of her, even if I did that to every other lady.

“Nothing! I’m just not feeling sleepy”, she replied and quickly darted her eyes to the ground.

A small scoff escaped my lips while I stared at her intently. Inasmuch as she tried to remain firm and aplomb, I could feel how much fear she was presently in.
