AURORA I give her a hug and we turn around to a sound at the door; we move slightly to see my father standing at the door leaning on the frame wearing his king's uniform. AURORA Once I am finished, I dry off, pull on the nightdress, and climb into bed. I lay there and think about what I just asked my father to do. AURORA I drift in and out of consciousness. I can feel that we are moving, but every time I seem to fight more to the surface, I feel another slight sting and darkness pulls me under again. AURORA I woke early the next morning. Thanks to my mother and her original slave routine for my father, we learned everything. My mother taught me and all my brothers how to cook and clean, and that was on top of our royal duties under Father. I stretch and climb out of the bed; I head back into the closet, pull off and fold the shirt I wore to bed, and then slip back on the dress I was wearing yesterday. I come out, make the bed, leave the cord in pieces on the floor by the post and then go and stand by the window. I look outside and I must admit it looks absolutely beautiful, with wood surrounding all sides, it seems. I would love to let Ariel out to run through those woods. She would have so much fun and it would be all new. We could get lost in there for days. AURORA As I expected, I woke before my alarm went off like I knew I would. I get dressed in his so-called uniform. I do my hair as much as what he did yesterday as I can. I then make my way into the kitchen, except I am too early and there is no one in the kitchen. I decided to make my own breakfast like my mother used to do. I search the kitchen cupboards and familiarise myself with where everything is. I then pull out a bowl and a pan.
