Chapter. 21.******The weekend soon approached and yet no news about Louis. Dylon had had very little sleep, and when it came, it was out of pure exhaustion and even less to eat. He could barely stop crying, holding back his tears for when he was alone, trying to not break down in front of his friends and classmates or before his family. He had tried to find any news about where they had flown Louis to but none was forthcoming.The day after the comforting conversation with his family, they went to school and he had cut it off with Vera who for some reason didn't accept the breakup but it didn't even bother Dylon. Chapter. 23.******When he finally got the nerve to open the door, the room was exactly what he had expected. Plain, neat, and smelled of chemicals that made his nose burn and his eyes water slightly. His eyes scanned the grey walls and the pieces of furniture, trying to avoid landing in the center of the room where he knew his lover was lying. Eventually, he couldn't avoid it any longer and he lets them fall to Levon's limp form tucked under the pristine white sheets and what looked like at least a hundred blankets. Levon looked like a mannequin, a life-sized doll of some sort in that bed. He looked so pale, so still and lifeless. The white sheets surrounding him only worsened the paleness of his skin, so much that he would almost look like a ghost, were it not for the dark bags underneath his eyes. Chapter. 24.******"I'm sorry," he cries, still clawing desperately at Levon's arm. He thought he felt his finger move but it could be his own imagination tricking him. "I'm so sorry, I-'' he's hyperventilating, unable to force oxygen into his lungs through his broken pleading, but he doesn't stop. He couldn't; he's hysterical now, and he needs his lover to open his eyes. "Please... Please, wake up, Louis." He doesn't. His eyes stayed closed, his body stayed deathly still, and Dylon stayed crying over him like his tears would magically undo all the pain he had inflicted on his lover. Like they would somehow take back all the things he had said and done. Like they would wake Levon up.They won't. He knows that, but it doesn't stop him from soaking the thin fabric of Levon's hospital gown with the river pouring from his eyes, and it doesn't stop his pleading. Chapter. 25.******Vera's heels clicked on the ground beneath her as she strides down the sidewalk, feeling soaked from hate and frustration from the way Dylon had treated her. She could see her reflection out the corner of her eyes in the shop windows, a bright pink crop-top with matching lipstick. She foams in anger. Chapter. 26.******She thought they were supposed to be best friends. Why would she want to speak to her brother in private? Maybe because she had arrived at the hospital without telling her. She had left them all at school so she could be here in time and even with all her effort, a nurse had gone to get Dylon who for some reason didn't show up until his sister appeared and now she's trying to take him away again.The hospital was unusually empty, there weren't many people visiting that afternoon, and the few that were had already entered their loved ones' rooms, leaving the hallways mostly empty except for the nurses rushing around. Vera doesn't particularly like hospitals. The strange quietness of the building doesn't really help her apprehension, as it leaves the hospital feeling like the setting of horror movies more than anything else.
