FORTY FIVE

Mary’s heart started beating fast as she slowly turned to look at her. The rage and fire in her eyes as she looked at her made her even more scared and alarmed. Mary thought she might have found her out, or perhaps she knew all along but choose to be quiet. Now this person showing up at their house might have probably aroused her anger.

Mary tried as much as she could to avoid Emma’s gaze, her anger seemed to be on edge at that very moment, and it looked like she was about to lash out at her. Mary had no one else to blame than the lady who had showed up at their house few minutes ago to try to get an interview from her.

“Yes Ms. Emma” she finally answered with shaky voice, with her head bowed, looking at her shoes.

“Do not even let any of all these lowlife journalists into this house ever again, and mind you, they could be disguised as anything while coming so you have to be wise to fish them out and throw them right back into the streets where they belong. Do you hear me?” She
