FORTY SIX

Mary wondered who it was that Emma was talking to and what they could be talking about. She could not get anything from what they were saying, but she was certain it was not Adonis she was talking to.

“What if she comes in here and sees me?” Mary whispered. “Oh! My God I’m so dead”. She started looking around the study for a suitable place to hide herself in case Emma decides to come in there.

“I think under the table would do” she tried fitting herself under he table and due to her small size, she fit in perfectly well. But what she did not know was if she was still visible from there.

However luck shone on her, few minutes later she could no longer hear their voices, it looked like they were gone.

Mary rushed to the door and opened it a crack, she looked left and right, and confirmed they were really gone before she finally stepped out of the room.

She finally let out a sigh of relief when she came out of the room.
