After sitting there for sometime and taking several more glasses of drink, Mary finally decided to go home before she starts getting tipsy. Mary hailed a cab and rode home, she almost jumped out of her skin when she saw Adonis car in the driveway. It took sometime before she realized that he would not have taken his car with him when in the police custody. She finally let out a sigh of relief and laughed at herself for being like that. She paid the cabbie and hurried inside. She did not bother going to her room first, she went straight to Emma's room to check on her. She was still on coma. Mary sat down by her bedside, she took her hand and started caressing it as she looked at all the devises that were connected to her body and we're repeatedly pumping liquids into her body. Mary was almost moved to tears as she watched her, she wondered how long she was going to remain like that, the doctor had assured her that she was definitely going to wake up, Mary believed the doctor,
"I'm really sorry, I did not mean to scare you" she said rubbing her back. Mary grudgingly lifted her arms and hugged her back. "But you needed to have seen your self" Mia suddenly said, pulling out from the hug and looking into Mary's face. "You needed to have seen what you like as you shook out of fright" Mia said laughing. Mary could not help but to laugh too, she somehow found it funny too. Mary took her hand and they both sat down on the bench. "You know it's been quite a long time I saw you, and I was actually just trying to create a more dramatic entry, you know just like in the movies" she demonstrated with her hands. "And I actually got you where I wanted you" she laughed so hard. "I was actually really scared Mia, you only just added to my initial fear" Mary said laughing too. "Why did you react that way anyways" Mia asked laughing. "I know.... I know, I expected you to be scared, but that was a bit too much. What are you so afraid of?" Mary thought about it,
Mia equally let out a devilish smirk. "And you just reminded me that you actually owe me for two" she said laughing. "Whatever Mia" Mary exclaimed laughing even more. "Your bosses house is quite big" Mia said as she made herself comfortable on one of the couches. Mary had no idea if the relationship with her and Adonis could actually be described as a boss and employee relationship, giving everything they had done together. She mentioned it to Mia as she went to sit besides her on the couch. "How far have you too gone?" Mia asked, chewing a mouthful of the popcorn they had bought on their way home. "We have actually gone very far, but what I do not know is if my far is also Adonis far". Mary had no idea if what she said made any sense to Mia, but she actually had to give it a thorough thought. She then remembered what Adonis had told her in the beginning, that the only thing that could happen between them was sex. Maybe that was all there is to it for him. "How far have
Mary turned around in her bed and looked through the window, it was day break already. Mia was lying right besides her and still sleeping. Mary looked at Mia and smiled, she had actually never shared a bed with anybody like this in the past, she remembered while she was growing up she had always wished she had a sister to share a bed with. She slowly tapped her shoulder and she woke up. "It's morning already Mia" Mary said. Mia got up and looked around the room, "this is not my room, have I been kidnapped?" She turned to Mary with an inquisitive look on her face. Mary stared back at her in shock, she wondered if Mia had developed amnesia overnight. "You spent the night with me Mia, remember" Mary said with corked eyebrows. She expected Mia to finally calm down and and act normal, but Mary was surprised to see her still acting historical and looking around the room with a confused look on her face. "Mia!" Mary slapped her forehead in frustration, wondering whaybhad come over
She quickly scanned through her wardrobe, searching for the best one among her work clothes to put on. She finally settled for one after scanning, she had scattered her clothes all over the place in the process. But she felt arranging them now would take so much time and she was late already. She would just do it when she gets back from work. She was about setting out when she noticed the hand band that Adonis had given to her, she still had it on. Agitated, she peeled it off her wrist and tossed it in the drawer close to her bed. "We should go now" she said to Mia as she came downstairs. When Mary arrived at work, she noticed quite a number of people in the lobby, they seemed to be looking at something interesting in the tv, only that this particular thing might not really be as interesting as it should be after all, because instead of the excited face she expected to see, they all had different unexplainable expressions on their faces. Some of them had blank expression on thei
Mary twisted the door handle and opened bit fully, walking into the house it looks calm as ever, and empty too. Mary was not sure if Adonis was home already or not. Taking a walk around the house, apart from all the other domestic help, there was no sign of any other person in the house. She wondered why Adonis was yet to come back, it was quite late already. She was tempted bro think that he probably did not agree to sign over the mineral to the government. 'How silly' She thought. She went straight to Emma's room to check up on her, thankfully the doctor was there, she had come around to check up on her. She greeted the doctor and walked inside. "Is there an improvement?" She asked concerned. "She has really shown some signs of improvement within the last few hours, that is good news". Mary nodded. "So when are we expecting her to be awake?" She asked again. "I can not really tell when she would be awake, but hopefully very soon. I just moderated her drip" Mary nodded
Mary shuddered even more, her heart beat even faster as she felt him hold unto her arm and prevented her from bending down. He pulled her up so that she could look into his face. Mary tried to keep her eyes down so that she would not have to look into his face. "You don't have to bother yourself okay?" He said softly, but Mary felt he was being sarcastic. "I would just simply ask another maid to clean it up" he still held unto her hand. Mary was surprised for a while. "You don't look okay" he said again. He took her hand and led her away from the chaos in the kitchen. "Are you not happy to see me?" He asked with a smile on his face, a smile that looked more like a smirk. "Or did anyone annoy you before my arrival?" He asked again. Mary did not know what to make out of the whole situation, but she told herself that she was probably over acting and she should try to act normal. She tried to paint a smile on her face, but she failed woefully. What was supposed to come out as a sm
Mary blinked repeatedly hoping to get rid of the fear in her eyes, she did not want him seeing the fear in her eyes and knowing how scared she was of him. He too blinked from reflex, and looked away. Then he turned to look at her and continued his story again. "This particular day, I was trying to sneak into my house with the fruits, just like the way you were about to run now" he said looking directly into her eyes. Mary was frozen for a moment, her heart skipped several beats as she heard him say that. His rapt attention focused directly on her face, like he was trying to read her facial expression. "Well..... This my neighbor caught me sneaking, and then I stood frozen in front of him, expecting to get scolded for the fruits. Can you guess what he said to me then?" Mary shook her head, wondering why he was asking her, why was he sharing the story with her anyways. "Well —" he squeezed her hand even more tightly. "He said why are you running when no one is after you". S
