Adonis stood there with his hands in his pocket as he watched her walk away from him. A lot of emotions he could not explain ran through his mind, causing chaos in the inside of his head. After having dinner with her parents Mary went back to her room with the intentions of going straight to bed, but she changed her mind and decided to take a shower first. Mary blinked repeatedly as the rays of sunlight from the open window hit her face, warming her face up causing her to squint as she opened her eyes fully. She realized only then that she had forgotten to close her window before she slept off last night. She wondered why her mom had not woken her up for the usual morning prayers and at the same time she was glad that her sleep was not interrupted. She picked up her phone from the bedside table and scrolled through it, even though she hated Adonis so much for trying to kill her, a part of her still expected to see a text from him. Mary decided to surprise her parents by making dinner before they get back from work, although she sulked at cooking she still wanted to impress them. She stood in the kitchen, confused on what to prepare. She later settled for toasts, it was the easiest thing she could make at that time, she needed to hurry, her parents would soon be back. Mary tried to wake up as early as she could in order to join the morning prayers. She does not want her parents thinking that she had turned wayward. She rubbed her sleepy eyes lightly and looked herself in the mirror, as usual she looked a mess with her hair scattered all over her face. She gradually swept it backwards with her fingers and packed it into a clean ponytail. By the time she got to the sitting room, her both parents were already awake and sitted. Mr Wilberforce said the prayers today, and it was relatively a long one like always. Mary asked if Mr Coleman was still in close contact with Adonis and Taylor affirmed to that, she had heard him on call with Adonis a few times. But Taylor felt there was something fishy about it since he was trying to keep it hidden. "Of course not" Mary said in hurry. "I do not have boyfriend mom" she said shyly. "It seemed like you were so passionate with whoever you were talking to on the phone" her mom said jokingly. Mary wondered how much her mum heard, she wanted to aske her, but it would raise suspicions. So she just let it be. The food was almost done by the time they both went back to the kitchen, Mary and her mom set the table together. Her mom teased her some more about having a boyfriend which as responded to shyly. By the time Mr Wilberforce came back from work, the table was already set. "Dad" Mary greeted kissing her dad's chin. "I smell something delicious". He said sniffing the air. "Guess what dad, we are having Mac and cheese for dinner". "Wow!" He exclaimed. "My mouth feels watery already" he joked. They both laughed as they walked inside holding hands. "I would just drop these and come back for dinner, I can't wait to pounce on this delicious meal" he said jokingly.
