WARM HOME
There was a knock on his office door. Samuel pulled off his reading glasses.
"Come in," he muttered as he pinched the bridge of his nose.
A woman in a white sundress entered the office. She was tall and had an hourglass figure. Her dark hair was braided and fell over her right shoulder.
"Hello, officer Ting." She greeted.
[Host, the main leads have met eachother.]
June stopped turning the page. He looked at Lion who was stretched on the couch and sleeping. Lion raised his head and also looked back at June.
"Well, I am way ahead of her in the game now," June said and went back to his reading.
Lion also rested his head back on the couch and continued sleeping.
Late in the evening Samuel opened the door of his apartment and to his surprise he saw June on the couch with crossed leg and a book on his hand. And
FUNNY It had been months since Grace last saw June. She was worried for him. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't get rid of his thoughts from her mind. She had talked with the police officer who claimed June was living with him for more than two times. He said he told June about her but June still hadn't called her. As she watered her plants, Grace decided to go for a walk. She wore her cardigan over her dress and stepped out of her apartment. Grace smiled up at the warm sunshine and walked down the streets. She slowly stopped in her tracks when she saw the person who had been her first and last thought of the day, for the last few months. June was in front of a cafe. He was wearing a white button up tucked inside his black trouser. He was talking to a police officer. Grace slowly walked towards the
SWEATER TIME The soft buzzing of the car engine filled the silence between June and Samuel as they drove to their apartment. June looked at the sky, the dark clouds rolled and a flash of lighting came followed by the loud crack of thunder. June let out a sharp breath and gripped the side of his shirt and looked away. Samuel noticed all that and softly asked,"Are you scared of thunderstorms?" June shook his head. "No!" Samuel knew June was lying but said nothing. Once they reached the apartment, June and Samuel began to make dinner. June jumped in surprise every now and then when another round of thunder cracked. After dinner, they went to their own rooms. Samuel laid his head on the pillow and looked at the ceiling. "She said, we must be in love." "Wasn't it funny?"
NOT OKAY Luke stopped in his tracks when he saw a man just like June inside a cafe wiping tables. Luke walked towards the cafe window and watched. To Luke's surprise, the man in the cafe was really June. Luke can't really forget that face. It was like a ghost to him. June's face haunted him everywhere. Luke opened the cafe door and stopped when June turned and saw him. It had almost been a year since he got to see the ghost who haunted him in flesh. Luke's heart dropped and it replaced with irritation when he saw June's smile drop. He saw June mutter something to the girl he was talking to and walked inside the kitchen. Luke would never understand June. He wanted June to be with him and when he refused Luke started picking fights with him. He couldn't take the rejection well and was getting frustrated and flustered all the ti
HEART TO HEART "Sto-stop! It hurts!" June held on Samuel's wrist stopping him from applying the cotton dipped in antiseptic. Samuel frowned, "You have wound all over your face, it will get infected if we don't clean it up." "I need to say something!" June said. Samuel lowered his hand with raised eyebrows. "What?" "I need to move out." The words felt like harsh slaps from reality. Samuel watched June as he gave excuses. "I have been living off you for more than a year, and I have a good amount of savings too. I—" "No don't go," Samuel cut in. June stopped talking and blinked. "What?" June laughed, "I—" June stopped talking and looked at Samuel. He slowly realised, they were leaning towards each
REST ASSURE Samuel frowned when he had to press the password to get in the condo. He open the front door of their condo. To his surprise the condo was still dark. The lights turned on at the sound of Samuel's footsteps. Samuel remembered Lion was spending a night at the vet's. "June?" He called and looked around but he saw no sign of June. There wasn't his jacket on the couch or his shoes clumsily thrown on the doormat. A chill went down his spine as Samuel dropped the groceries and pulled out his phone. He dialed James' number. "Hello?" "James? Is June with you?" Samuel worriedly asked. "No," James sounded confused, "His shift ends early today so he left early."
WARRHOUSE MISHAP "This is the warehouse!" Samuel exclaimed and got out of the car. "Sam, wait!" James called, he turned back to look at Tina who was already loading a gun. "Why do you have that?" James asked. "Just go after, him!" she hissed. James quickly noddes and got out of the car. "Sam!" James jogged towards Samuel who was already inside the warehouse. "They are not here!" Samuel said with gritted teeth his frustration getting the better of him. The warehouse was empty expect for some chains tangled in a pile around the pole and a dark phone in front of it. Tina walked into he warehouse and picked up the phone. Samuel was still looking around. His loud heartbeats were all he would hear, blood pounded in his ears as he looked around. Hoping to find June with every corner he searched. "They are leaving for New York!" Tina shou
OLD MISSION [Host, welcome back to the Space. Do you want to go back to any mission you had failed before?] June thought about all the missions he had failed. He was still new to the system and as a rookie employee he had made lots of mistakes. However, there was one particular mission he had choose to fail willingly. He didn’t regret failing the mission. He had choose to fail it but it somehow left a bitter taste in his mouth as he left the world. June took in a deep breath trying to calm his nerves. He knew the supporting actor of that world did not deserve such an ending. And he wanted to see those dark eyes again. “I would like to go back to Ian Wang's mission.” [Yes, host. REJECTIONIt was a free period and like an ideal student, June Weng was using his time wisely.By staring at his sleeping seat partner– Ian Wang.It only felt like yesterday when June said to Venus he wanted to quit the mission so his death wouldn’t sadden Ian, when they fall in love. The mission was too cruel for him since Ian was the same age as him before June was bound to the system.June had always wondered why Ian looked so lonely. When June had went to Love Crop with an apology letter for failing this mission, he had checked up the soulmate list and saw that Ian and the original owner of the body were soulmates. After that he always wondered if he did the right thing by calling off the mission. He was still unsure about coming back to the mission but somehow guilt bit him when h
