Chapter 25: His eyes

James had spent hours on his way back rehearsing how he would lie to Jewel. He would look serious and would not allow his eyes give him away. Now he stood in front of Jewel speechless and fidgety. He thought he had it all planned out but he was so wrong. It could have been as a result of the consciousness he had that Jewel trusted him so much or his knowledge of how wrong it was to lie to a friend. It was not his wish to get involved in Miguel's messy games but he had no choice. He was going to tell her the truth and hope that she understood. Jewel would just have to see reasons with him.
