Chapter 18: Roses and Thorns

I kept holding her in my arms and looked at the slight morning light entering the room through the window indicating it’s morning.

The door to the room opened and I saw Doctor Sarah coming into the view and she said.

“Mr. Risso, she needs rest.”

“I’m resting only, Doctor.” She said and I felt her hot breath fanning over my neck.

“I need to ingest this injection, Ms. Valerina.” She said coming forwards.

She tightened her hold on my shoulders when I tried to lift her off from my lap.

“I guess you would have to cooperate with the position.” I said and she chuckled, nodding her head.

I took Rozine’s hand off my shoulder which had IV and forwarded it towards the doctors. I held her soft and slim wrist in my arms while the doctor injected it.

God! She’s soft. Shut up, Jackson! She’s weak right now.

She hissed in pain and tightened her hold on my neck while I rubbed her back with my other hand. Doctor injected it and disposed of the injection in the trash bin.
