Early in the morning, Brianna was discharged from the hospital. The doctors constantly remind her of taking rest. Brianna smiled at them with a slight nod. She was afraid Satan would cause trouble in the hospital. "Thank you, everyone, for taking care of me." Brianna waved at the hospital staff and was led out of the hospital with the help of Jule. "Madam, how are you feeling?" Jule asked with a guilty conscience. She might have shut her mouth if she had known this would happen. "Thanks to you, aunt Jule. I lost my child. I would never forgive you for this. I wish you to have the worst fate than mine. This is a blessing from a mother who has lost her first child." Brianna freed her arm from Jule's grip and limped towards the car. She bore resentment against every person who was near Satan.
Brianna was safely escorted to her with the help of Jule. Jule felt even more guilty when Brianna pointed at her and cursed her. Jule was aware of her mistake but could not undo the deed. She could only hang her head low with shame. Jule was not able to meet Brianna's eyes. "You must be happy seeing me like this." Brianna leaned on her bed and asked Jule who was adjusting the temperature. Jule's hand trembled a little."I am sorry, Mistress. Forgive me. I told Master about your poor health but not about the child. I swear, my intentions were not to harm you. I thought Master would be considerate and take good care of you." Jule bent on her knees and trembled. She ignored Brianna's warning and told Satan something she should not have said. "Can your sorry bring back my child? No! Right? Get lost! Don't ever show up before me, or else I don't know what I can do." Brianna yelled causing her stomach to hurt from excessive pain. She threw the vas on the bedside table on the floor."Don't
Jule looked at the closed door- still trembling in fear. She thought Brianna was a simple and soft-hearted young girl, but man, no, she was utterly wrong. Brianna was like the mother lioness- ready to attack her enemies."Why are you standing here?" Jule jumped in fright when Satan's cold voice rang in her ears from behind. "Master! Madam wishes to be alone. So, I am standing here in case she needs something." Jule hung her head not to show the fear and nervousness in her eyes. "Is she still mourning for her dead child? Pathetic, weak woman!" Satan scoffed and pushed the door of the room, leaving behind a horrified Jule.'For her dead child? Oh my, Lord! What sin have I committed? If I had known Master did not care for the child, I would have never told him about Madam's health.' Jule covered her mouth with her palm- her old haggard eyes were wide open. Back in the room, Satan saw the mess and tsked with a perverted smile on his deadly lips. "Why are you throwing a useless tantrum
After his last encounter with Brianna, Satan did not return home for a week. Brianna was unaffected by his absence. She wants him never to return home. His presence brings back all her miseries and pain, and most importantly, the scene where he kicked her stomach replayed in her memories like a stucked tap. "Satan, this is an important meeting. You have already delayed it for days, and board members were asking for a reason. This is a billion deal. You can't just let it go like that." Roy tried his best to convince Satan to attend the meeting with the Executives of an international company. But Satan was nowhere to move. All his attention was on the screen of his laptop, from where he could see all the actions Brianna had. In the past week, not once did Brianna mention him. This thought alone made Satan restless, and due to this, he wasn't able to concentrate on his work. "She seems happy. What do you think?" Instead of answering Roy, Satan pointed at the screen with his chin and
Christopher walked into the kitchen while rubbing his palms from time and on. Selene saw the hesitation in his eyes and stopped chopping the vegetables. She wiped her hands and stepped closer to Christopher."Chris, you seem restless. Is everything fine on your side?" Selene rubbed Christopher's arm to comfort him."Mm, yeah! Everything's fine. Ah, Sele, something happened on Satan's side. Roy informed that Brianna had a miscarriage." Christopher had a guilty smile on his face."How? Brother should have told me earlier. Brianna needs me by her side. We must go there." Selene held her head in her palms and started to cause a ruckus."Roy didn't tell me the reason. As for going there- Satan won't let us. I tried to talk sense into him, but he refused to let us meet Brianna. He said she needs rest." Christopher gripped Selene's shoulder in an attempt to stop her from moving.
Selene was stumped with the information. Her chest heaped up and down with anger. She was now sure Brianna had given her a signal that day, and she foolishly ignored it."I am not a worthy friend. I have let her suffer alone." Selene curled up on the cold floor and sobbed."You are a worthy friend, Sele. Don't blame yourself. We have to stand by Brianna's side not to cry and add to her problems." Christopher hugged Selene and kept on kissing her forehead."Chris, you- you are not on Satan's side. Right? You said Satan is truly in love with Brianna but look what he has done to my friend." Selene pushed Christopher with accusations in her eyes."I am not. I swear, Sele. I will never be on his side, silly. Brianna is like a sister to me, and I know how important she is to you. If I had known earlier, I would never allow her to marry Satan." Christopher pulled Selene into his arms. It was not easy to gain the trust of Selene, and because of Satan's mistake, he could not bear to allow Sele
Satan sat on his office chair, deep in thought. Roy wanted to say something but was afraid to disturb Satan. "Say what you want to say." Surprising him, Satan turned his focus to Roy. Satan supported his chin with the back of his hand and raised his brows, indicating Roy to spit out the words. "Satan, it's time for you to stop being stubborn and see a psychiatrist. You are well aware of your disorder. It has ruined you." Roy had been with Satan for years and know him well. Roy was the one who accompanied Satan to his psychiatrist, but the disorder had such a powerful impact that Satan stopped seeing the doctor, and after that, his condition worsened. "I can't stop myself. Whenever I try to hold back, he manipulates my thoughts and mind. He controls all my actions and emotions." Satan covered his face and leaned back on the chair. He too was tired of having different personalities. "Satan, I think there is one person who can help you. I've been with you for years and can't bear to
Brianna was happy after not facing Satan for more than a week. She wished these days never to end, but her happiness didn't last long. On the fourth day of the second week, Brianna woke up and found out from Jule that Satan had returned home. The slight smile on Brianna's face disappeared."Why is he back?" Brianna frowned, and her voice turned cold. She was not ready to face him. "Madam, this is Mister's house, and he has the right to return home." Jule humbly reminded Brianna. She wanted to say a few more words on behalf of Satan but was instantly shut by Brianna's fierce gaze. "Scram before I lose my temper on you." Brianna clenched her fists, and her body trembled uncontrollably. The surge of killing Satan was like a tornado inside Brianna. Down the stairs, Jule stood in the corner with her head low. She was ashamed and fearful. "Why isn't she here?" Satan closed his eyes as he rested on the sofa. The dark circles around his eyes showed his worn-out state. "Mister, Madam is n
