Chapter Thirty Four

DAKODA

The guys bring me back to their house and I find myself lying on the couch. Korey returns from talking to the detective and I ask him what the detective said. Gage gets angry and questions why more proof is needed. I explain that the detective wants the person responsible to admit to their actions. Kasey expresses her dislike for the situation, but assures me that it won't be like last time. She suggests getting the person to come over and talk, hoping it will help them change their ways before causing harm to themselves or others.

Korey compliments me on being a good person and asks how I'm feeling. He sits at the end of the couch and places my feet on his lap. I tell him that I'm in a lot of pain and feel like I've been thrown off a surfboard. Kasey comes out of the kitchen with water and pain pills, offering further assistance.
