SIXTY-FOUR

I woke up feeling overly tired and restless. On days like this, I just want to stay in bed and sulk, so I snuggled under the blanket and adjusted to a comfortable sleeping position. Slade had left earlier than usual to attend a meeting in another pack.

I closed my eyes and tried to catch more sleep, but I can feel my wolf stirring restlessly within me. I’d never felt her so disoriented as I felt her now, so I was constantly tossing and turning in discomfort.

‘Is something wrong?’ I asked Xaria, but she responded with a weak growl. ‘Stay still, I need to rest,' I grumbled when she continued with her awkward movements.

‘I don’t know what it is,' Xaria said.

‘Then stay still,' I scowled. To my relief, she obeyed immediately. After many minutes, sleep finally came, but it was short lived. Gwyn interrupted to administer my daily dose of vitamins and doctor’s prescription along with my breakfast. I wasn’t even allowed to miss meals anymore. She stayed with me and made little conversatio
