Chapter 3: HE’s NOW A PERMANENT GUEST

.

"So, Iandor. How do you like it here?", Christopher started.

Iandor turned his head to the owner of the voice who was sitting at the end of the table. "Its nice. I love it! and please, Ian is just fine.", he smiled at the elder. Sparkles were noticeable even from his lunnette eyes.

They were currently having a nice and pleasant dinner in the dinning room. The chandelier hanging in the middle of the ceiling illuminates the whole room with a gentle burst of golden radiating making the atmosphere more cosy and family-like.

After almost five hours of a grueling battle in the kitchen with Frankie and sustaining a few small injuries (they weren't that serious but Iandor swears the oven wanted him as a sacrifice) they finally manage to cook up a meal fit for an army.

Roasted beef brisket, chicken pie, mashed potatoes, baked asparagus with melted parmesan cheese on top and not forgetting the homemade chocolate ice cream that Nicholas made himself still sitting in the freezer.

A'hah. Iandor is sure he's gonna die from too much 'love' his given.

Christopher and Frankie were sitting at both ends of the table with Zachary, Nicholas and Jay on one side and Alfie and Iandor on the opposite.

"Glad that you like it here, Iandor. We rarely have company, with Jay’s training and all we never even have time to eat as one family.", Frankie continues. "That reminds me, why have you returned early? I thought his training completes by the end of this week?"

"Yeah, but Jay here somehow was able to sped up his final hunting skills in a mere three days. He ended up bringing two wild boars back to base camp in two days. I mean, they were huge for crying out loud!", Christopher exclaimed.

Clearly feeling proud at his younger brother’s accomplishment.

"And he brought back an adult fox on his last day. So we concluded his training were to end the next day.", Zachary adds, cutting a piece of meat and popping it into his mouth.

Iandor who was listening attentively the whole time wonders what kind of training did Jay undergoes. He remembers very well that when the three of them arrived earlier, there was no signs of riffles, shotguns or any other weapons.

Christopher and Jay both carried hiking backpacks and Zachary has a metal suitcase in his hand. Wanting to know more about their recent activity, Iandor opted to speak but at the same time he also wanted to steal a few glances of Jay which ended up backfiring him.

Fuck.

Jay was already staring at him, straight in the eyes. And apparently, Iandor can't stop himself from staring back, its as if the younger had cast a spell on him.

His brown coffee bean orbs were smoldering with something, something that Iandor couldn't quite put his finger on and its scaring him a bit. Scratch that, he was terrified!

"Ian..", Alfie whispered as he nudged Iandor’s side with his elbow.

That snapped him right out of whatever trance he's in and that ends him with a jolt making the fork he was holding dropped to his plate with a loud clank. Ian was mortified when all eyes were trained on him, except for Jay that is. He even has the decency to play dumb.

"Hey kid. You alright?", Zachary asked concernedly.

"Uhm..yeah. May i be excused?", Iandor faced Frankie, asking for permission before he got up and went into the kitchen.

Entering the threshold, he walks towards the kitchen counter and lets his lower back lean against it and brought his hand up to his chest.

God damn it, his heart was pounding like crazy! If its gonna be like this every time he's in the same room with Jay, he might just be dead soon enough.

"Shoot! Why is he so..so..intimidating!", Iandor half whisper, half yell to himself, groaning after as he felt slightly annoyed. "What is wrong with me? Okay..calm down. After i'm fully healed, i'll just leave. No big deal.", he snickered. "I could just leave at dawn. Yeah..yeah! That's good.", Iandor facepalmed. "Oh God. What am i going to do with my life. I can't just leave like that!", he groaned again, turning his body full over the counter, letting his forehead rest over his folded arms on the cold marble table top.

Iandor straighten his back when he heard someone clearing their throat. Realizing it wasn't the person he expect it to be, he suddenly felt self-conscious at the male who's standing near the door frame with his arms crossed over his chest. "Is Jay the matter?", asking what it seems like a rhetorical question.

"No.", he denied with a small voice.

Looking down, the white shiny tiled floors seems more interesting.

"You just met him today, kid."

Iandor didn't respond. He could sense the mint-haired male approaches him. "Look at me."

The younger involuntarily looks up. Why the fuck do they sound so commanding?

Zachary brings up two of his slim fingers to the younger's forehead and taps lightly on the warm skin. Iandor was stupefy for a moment as he brings his own hand to touch on the spot that was tapped earlier. "Jay is a teenager, he's easily attracted to the things he likes."

Iandor’s eyes grew big at the statement. What?

Zachary smirked. "If it makes you feel any better, you could just pretend like he doesn't exist.", he shrugged. Casually suggesting like its the most easiest thing to do.

"You're not helping at all. I thought Alfie would come and jump on me, i wasn't expecting for your little 'visit'.", Iandor grins, feeling that the elder's advice was more of a bad joke rather then something he could reflect on.

Zachary scoffs light-heartedly with a gummy smile. "Brat. Come on, Christopher wanted to discuss on something."

Reluctantly, Iandor heads out with Zachary leading the way.

"You alright?", Frankie asked as soon as he takes his seat.

"Yeah. I'm fine, Frank.", Iandor replied with a smile. Not daring to glance around, his focus was back on his plate or occasionally chattering with Alfie.

"Iandor..", the said male instantly swirl his head towards Christopher. "If its okay with you. We would like you to stay here with us.", he said determinedly.

Huh? What? This is all so fast. Okay Iandor. Just politely say 'no'. Come on, its just a big N.O. Come on!

And..

Iandor found himself nodding at the dimpled face male.

Stupid brain.
