I adjust the microscope and the slide comes into focus as a crease forms along my forehead. This isn’t what I had been expecting. After 10 separate tests, each of them came up with the same result and the same changes in the blood cells.

It isn’t the royal blood, but it is Trinity’s blood which can heal people. The royal blood can heal lycans, but after mixing the royal blood with Trinity’s, it is the crown princess’ new blood which works miracles on both lycans and werewolves and in a fast time frame.

This isn’t the result I’ve been expecting.

I lean back and glance across the room at the cooler in the far corner. Through the glass door, I spot a couple of vials of Trinity’s blood sitting alone on the middle rack, almost calling to me.

My wolf whispers, “This could be what Bethany needs to heal and bring her back.”
