The clock continued ticking and I remained on the bed planning my escape. Killan soon left again. That bastard, he had been leaving his post since morning and I wondered what he was up to. Anyway, the better it was for me.

After he had left, most of the guards who were in my room walked out to continue their discussion, leaving only one guard behind.

I maintained my cool until the guard stopped pacing the room and was absent-minded. Without making any sound, I bulgedong him with a flower vase that was within my reach.

As the vase shattered, I froze thinking that others would hear it but they were too consumed by their discussion and none of them acted.

As the soldier's unconscious body began to fall, I steered my partially stiff body towards him, stopping his free fall.
