Chapter 30: A Dance with Fate

“Where are we?” I asked, looking at the cabin in front of us.

This was just like any other cabins in this mountain that I had come across so far, but somehow, it still looked beautiful, more ornate than most. Maybe because it was two storied? Or maybe because it was set at the very edge of the cliff. The maker of this cabin had made a very bold decision and it had worked out beautifully.

“My house.” Gustav gave me a bright smile. “I thought you would like some home-cooked meals rather than restaurant food. You’ve been having takeout almost every day.”

“You saw that?” I asked him sheepishly. Of course he knew I was having take out every day, the little police station was right opposite to the diner and from what I had noticed, the middle-aged woman that owned the diner was quiet friendly with him.
