Chapter 27. Runaway

Michael Emerson does not believe in unreasonable things, such as religion. He doesn't even believe in God. But it tickled Mike when a priest believed someone's lies because it was in church. He chuckled and shook his head.

"You are so naive, Father. How can you think that a criminal would speak the truth in church? If that's the case, we, the police, should just take all the criminals we catch to church, not prison!" Mike sneered at Zach's question while chuckling mockingly.

Zach still had a straight expression and didn't want to respond. He knew that Mike was only trying to mock God's great power and compared all his apathy to a human.

"I don't need to lie to you; what's to cost me?" Zach replied sarcastically to Mike. Mike stopped chuckling and turned serious. Zach glared at Mike, who finally just acted like before.

"Did Vincent ever tell you who ordered him to kill Chad Donovan?" Mike asked Zach again. Zach shook his head.

"He didn't say a name;
