Vincent closed his eyes, enjoying the sweetness of blood that should be disgusting to normal humans. The screams of pain were like a sweet song to his ears. He was happy to hear the dying roar of his victim. The extraordinary taste of blood was now washing away his dry throat.
While enjoying it, Vincent realized it and widened his eyes. He quickly let go of his bite, his mouth full of blood. The pickpocket went limp and fell to the ground, unconscious. Either he is dead or not.
“Uh, what happened to me? What did I do?” Vincent panicked. He swallowed the remaining blood many times in his mouth. Meanwhile, the old man he was helping carried Kyron to check on the situation.
"Sir?" he called to Vincent, who was standing aside. Vincent turned his back and wiped the blood with his wrist. The old man approached Vincent, who was a little confused. He had to find out what happened to him, but what?
“Sir, are you okay?” The man asked the confused Vincent. He wiped away the remaining blood before turning around and smiling.
"Yes, I'm fine." Vincent chuckled slightly, then turned to the two pickpockets who were lying motionless. Vincent then took Kyron from the man's arms.
“I thank you for your help. But it doesn't need to come to this," said the old man with sincerity. He glanced once again at the person lying on the ground before looking back at Vincent.
"I just want to help," answered Vincent, trying not to look too much at the man. The man still looked confused, and Vincent took the opportunity to leave with Kyron. The old man picked up his wallet on the ground before following Vincent.
“Wait, what's your name? Where are you going with your baby?” asked the old man intercepting Vincent.
“My name is Vincent Cox; this is Kyron.” Vincent glanced briefly at Kyron, even though he didn't say that the baby was his son. The old man smiled, then stretched out his hand.
“My name is Zachary Smith. I live not far from here. Would you perhaps be willing to have lunch at my house?” offered the man named Zach.
"Uh, I have to go home." A police siren suddenly sounded, and the car passed the road beside him. Suddenly, Vincent turned around to hide Kyron behind his arms. Zachary, who saw Vincent's behavior, was suddenly confused and curious. He knew something must have happened.
Luckily, the car just passed by and didn't stop. Vincent was breathing fast and looked scared. He also calmly hugged Kyron.
"You'd better come with me first. Once it's safe, you can leave," said Zachary suddenly. Vincent's brows furrowed when he turned to the old man. The man seemed sincere and willing to help.
"Okay," answered Vincent briefly. He walked, following the man, to an apartment building not far from the alley. This simple apartment building is quite safe from police pursuit.
Zachary Smith invited Vincent and Kyron into his apartment. Vincent sighed in relief, for being inside the building kept him safe from the sun.
“Sit down. I'll be back," said Zachary, taking off his hat. Vincent sat with Kyron, whom he placed on the dining table. Vincent's nose smelled something bad. Kyron looked upset, but he didn't cry.
“Why do I smell something rotten from you?” Vincent asked Kyron, who just grinned with drool dripping from between his fingers in his mouth.
"Now why have you laughed at me instead?" Vincent continued again, irritably. Kyron was still giggling. Vincent and Kyron's relationship grew closer after 24 hours together. Vincent's eyes roamed around the room again. Zach's apartment looks simple but mysterious. Vincent didn't think anything bad at all until Zach came back.
"Do you want to eat something?" Zach asked after returning to the living room, where Vincent was sitting with Kyron.
"No, thank you. I just ate.” Vincent answered while holding Kyron.
“I think I smell something." Zach's gaze shifted to Kyron.
“Did you check his diaper?” Zach asked, coming closer.
"Diaper? No," answered Vincent innocently. Zach smiled, then snorted softly.
“You better check your son's diaper. You know how to change a baby's diaper, right?”
For a moment, Vincent was confused about what was happening. How could he know all that? Vincent has never even been married. However, to avoid Zach's suspicion, Vincent nodded.
“Then you should check his diaper,” Zach pointed at Kyron. Vincent complied by checking the back, and the smell became stronger.
“Oh God! What the hell is this?! Ahhhhk!” screamed Vincent, almost throwing up. Kyron even laughed at Vincent's half-fainting. Since Vincent's sense of smell is getting sharper than normal, the smell of baby poop will torture him.
“What are you eating? Aaahhkk! I want to throw up!" Vincent ran into the kitchen and vomited in the sink. The funny thing is that Vincent vomited almost all the food he ate at the previous cafe. There was no trace of the human blood he had sucked.
“Are you okay, Mr. Cox?” Zach asked, approaching, a little worried about Vincent's condition.
"Yes, yeah!” Vincent nodded like a half-drunk man while washing his face.
"I'm sorry." Vincent turned around with a gasp and a look of confusion. Zach looked at Vincent suspiciously. It looked like Vincent was running from something.
"Are you the baby's father?" Zach asked, starting to get suspicious. Vincent was silent and stunned. What should he say if he gets caught?
"I..." Vincent fell into deep thought again. He can't go out now because the police are still hunting for him. Meanwhile, Vincent couldn't return to his apartment because the police would have searched the place.
“Yes, I just got divorced, and my ex-wife left with her boyfriend and left our child. So far, I've rarely been at home, and I'm not very good at looking after him," said Vincent, explaining what he thought was logical. He became good at lying, although Vincent was previously a rigid man.
"Oh, I see." Zach smiled slightly as he nodded in understanding.
"Still you have to change your baby's diaper."
“But I don't have money to buy diapers right now.” Vincent reasoned. Zach nodded with a smile.
“Just take it inside. I am a Priest. And recently, the church collected donations from generous congregants for the orphanage children. There are few things you can use for your baby," said Zach, offering his help.
Vincent smiled and nodded. It wasn't in vain that he helped someone this time.
The pickpocket that Vincent and the priest left behind started to open his eyes. His breath was ragged, like that of a hungry wild animal. His eyes turned red, as did the skin on his extremely pale hands. He started to stand up and look in all directions.Vincent threw his friend, who crashed not far from him, and he also woke up. Some people just passed by in front of the alley without caring about them.“Ahhk, my head!” groaned the friend holding his head while sitting. He raised his head and saw that his criminal friend in the robbery this afternoon was standing a few meters away, staring at him. It was getting late as the street lights were turned on.“Hey, Tom. Why are you just standing there? Help me up!” he shouted at his friend. His friend was still staring intently while the other man was still rubbing his head and nape alternately. The man called Tom finally walked towards his friend. feeling that your friend will help you reach
Vincent came out of the room with a good, fresh look. Although he was only wearing an old long-sleeved t-shirt and jeans, he looked much better. It was late afternoon, and it was time for dinner. He came over to Kyron, who was sitting on the floor, busy playing with an empty bottle."Hey..." Vincent touched Kyron, who grinned widely when he saw him. Vincent also smiled at him."You look good in those clothes, kid," said Zach while serving dinner at the dining table not far from them. Vincent just smiled as well.“Let's have dinner. I've also made porridge for your baby," said Zach again. Vincent nodded and thanked him. He picked up Kyron and put him on a chair. Because Kyron was a baby and he was too small to sit and eat in a normal adult chair, Vincent then put Kyron on his lap."Better?" Vincent asked, to which Kyron babbled as if he were saying yes."Smart boy!" said Zach, smiling.“Are you a Catholic?” Zach asked again,
Vincent took off his hoodie and put it on before he left the room. After Kyron slept, he took steps to look for information and wanted to return to his apartment. Vincent didn't take much with him; the police had to tow the car because his identification tag was still inside."Are you going out?" Zach asked Vincent, who had just closed the door slowly.“Uh, yes, Father. I have to go out for a moment. "I have to get some things from my old apartment," Vincent answered rationally. Zach nodded in understanding."Yes, of course. How about your baby?""He is sleeping. Can I leave him for a while, Father? I won't be long.” Zach smiled and nodded.“Sure, I'll read a book first before going to bed. Be careful and come back quickly. There's a lot of crime in New York at night," said Zach while patting Vincent's arm, who was a little stunned. His mind had flashes of memories of fleeing with Kyron and getting bit by a police officer who was
“Honey, come inside. Let me talk to Vincent." Mr. Jamieson gently asked his wife to come back into the room. With a flat expression, the woman turned to go into her room. After that, Mr. Jamieson spoke to Vincent again.“Tell me the truth, Vince. What happened?" Mr. Jamieson insisted, half whispering to Vincent. Vincent turned slightly towards the door, then pulled Mr. Jamieson's arm away from the door.“Mr. Jamieson, please help me. I'm being slandered. I was accused of shooting my ex-boss, even though I wasn't the one who did it. I came to get my things!” said Vincent, also lowering his voice so as not to make a noise. Mr. Jamieson seemed to frown slightly.“The police came this afternoon to question some neighbors. Luckily, I wasn't home yet, so they couldn't do it. If what you said is true, then why would they question everyone?”Vincent took a deep sigh. He was a little hesitant to tell him what happened.&l
For a while, Vincent was walking a little erratically, and the police almost caught him. He approached the door of the apartment where Brandon lived. When he arrived at the door to the apartment, Vincent, who had already raised one hand, hesitated. His brow furrowed.“What would Heather say if she saw me? Will she report me to the police?” he muttered doubtfully. Vincent gave up his intention to knock on the door. It would be better if he just waited until Brandon came out. If Vincent still had a cell phone, it might be easy for him to contact Brandon. The problem is that the cellphone was left in the car, and now it has been towed by the police.Vincent was forced to wait near the stairs without knowing when Brandon would come out. While sitting quietly near the steps, Vincent leaned his head and then tilted his head slightly upwards. His eyes caught a very small spider walking on the wall. Even though the distance between him and the wall was quite far, t
Mike and Jake received a report from one of the officers about Vincent. They immediately rushed to the location. Mike even stayed up two nights to hunt for the latest information about Vincent Cox. He still insisted that Vincent was a professional killer. As soon as they arrived at the apartment, paramedics had just arrived. Mike's brow furrowed in astonishment. He came closer and watched as Brandon Meadow was taken to the ambulance."What happened?" Mike asked Brandon, who was in pain with a brace on his arm. Heather was seen standing not far from his brother with a worried expression.“He came... ahkk... he broke my arm... aah!” Brandon grimaced in pain and cried. He couldn't stand the excruciating pain."How did it happen?" Jake asked in surprise."I've already told you that he is a madman, a psychopath! Luckily, my brother screamed, so he survived; otherwise, he would have died like Mr. Donovan!” Heather said, her emotions rising.“Calm down, Miss Meadow. Please explain to us what
Along with witness testimony, Michael Emerson and Jake Turner started gathering evidence regarding Vincent Cox. Aside from that, Vincent is becoming harder to find across the state of New York. They called in police from Denver to stop Vincent from leaving the city."Let's see the surveillance camera footage!" Jake inquired with his partner. With a nod, Mike trailed him to the security control center. Both the manager and the building security officer were on hand to help.“Show me!” said Mike, ordering the security guard to play the footage. It also recorded the time when the recording took place for investigation purposes. The footage shows Vincent exiting the stairs to Brandon Meadow's apartment. Mike frowned when he saw the time."Stop! Try playing the camera on the entrance.” Mike ordered him again. The recording is replaced with the camera position at the front of the building and repeated at the same time as before.“
Vincent walked past various people on the sidewalk with his head slightly bowed and wearing a hoodie. He began to realize that everything he experienced was not a dream. Everything that happened was real.Vincent just stopped and let people pass by. It had been two days since he last drank blood. Vincent slapped himself hard in the face until he groaned in pain."Aahhkk... this isn't a dream!" He cursed in pain. Some who passed by glanced at him as a strange person. It's strange. While rubbing his cheek, Vincent then continued walking. He passed a mini-market and decided to stop by. Somehow, he remembered Kyron. The baby needs milk, not blood, like him.He walked into the mini-market and then glanced at one of the corners that caught his eye. The surveillance camera is the eye that watches all visitors, including himself.“The camera in the apartment must have captured my image. I have to hide immediately," he muttered softly. He continued walking t
