"You know that because you're a witness and not a suspect, you can choose not to take the lie detector test." Mr. Russell, the younger detective had observed Mrs. Jenkins' restlessness. His detective instincts went up again, just like the previous day. She had some skeletons in the closet, and he suspected they had something to do with what they found out.

They had gathered information about her husband's uncle that lived in Gordon State. He was real, a drug lord who had been convicted of child trafficking a month before his nephew's wedding. The family never talked about him because, to them, he was dead. The uncle wasn't married, but he had a son who couldn't have children, the same age as Isabelle's father.
