Darkness...
Boundless...As if it was a darkness that would not come to an end...She didn't know how long she walked. Days, months, years…maybe even decades, perhaps even centuries. She only knew that this tunnel did not seem to have an end...Tired. So tired. It felt like she was walking through a dark and desolate tunnel for eternity. She wanted to stop, but for some reason, she kept on walking toward the tiny speck of light far away in the distance. Her throat felt dry and rough, burning with extreme thirst.Water. She needed water. Maybe she could drink when she reached the end of the tunnel, so she kept walking and walking.Water. The thought of water relieving her parched throat kept her going. She didn't know. She just wanted water.Almost there.Just like that...Her consciousness was gradually stripped away, swallowed bit by the darkness...However, every time she was about to be swallowed by that swamp-like darkness, there would always be a weak beam of light shining ahead, weakly yet persistently. There seemed to be a gentle and beautiful voice in her ears too. It had never stopped injecting her body with energy in a steady flow.'Love, I am waiting for you, please don't give up. Even if it takes years, just don't give up.' A warm voice kept on telling her this from time to time. She could feel the pain and longing in that voice; even though she really wanted to give up, she kept walking just for the voice she heard. She continued to walk, continued to walk...She was too exhausted and did not know what was going on. She could not think about anything, but she still remembered one thing - that at the end of that weak light was something significant waiting for her......The tug-of-war kept repeating like that. She was not sure how long it had persisted, how many times. Finally, that light was becoming brighter and brighter as if it was closer to her now... much closer. She fought hard with her last bit of strength, running in the direction of that light with all her might. Finally, the light grew larger and brighter.Boom! There was an explosion! The glaring white light engulfed her entire being, her entire world turning from the extreme darkness to extreme brightness. Her eyes, which had not reacted the slightest for a long time, were now trembling. Some time passed when those pair of eyes finally opened up bit by bit. Her eyelashes were like the wings of a butterfly that started to unfold. The early morning's first beam of sunlight filled those pair of crystal clear eyes. It was unfathomably beautiful. Her sight was saturated with the glaring white light. After a long while, her vision slowly recovered, and she could see everything before her clearly. Then she was bathed in pure, white light.Finally.###At a big, private hospital. She opened her eyes and felt almost blinded by a soft, dim light. It took a few moments before her eyes adjusted.'Where am I?'Confused, she looked around the elegant, hotel-like room. She didn't recognise the place. Then she noticed the sound of slow, constant beeping beside her. She turned her head towards the sound and was surprised that her head felt heavy. In fact, her entire body felt heavy. She couldn't move. Other than her eyelashes, nothing in her body was ready to move even an inch.'What's going on? Where the hell am I?'A low beeping sound was heard, unlike in her dream, which was filled with silence most of the time. With great effort, she tried to turn her head a little and realised that it was a machine making the beeping noise. She then realised that she was hooked to it and a lot of other medical apparatuses as well. Finally, it dawned on her that she was at a hospital, and her condition was rather severe by the looks of it."W-was…her…" She tried speaking, but only a dry whisper came out of her cracked lips.Nobody was around. She already felt exhausted. Her eyes started to droop, but she fought against the unconsciousness threatening to overcome her."Love, did you make a voice," An extremely concerned voice asked her. She realised it was the same voice that kept on talking with her all this time, the voice which gave her the strength to move forward. She tried to crane her neck so hard to glimpse the person, but her body didn't react a bit to her efforts. She felt so warm that she thought that man really waiting for her at the place where she saw that light. That man really still waiting for her. That voice still contains the longing and Love she always felt. When she was trying hard and praying to God to give her at least a glimpse of that man's face, an extremely handsome face came into her view. His face is filled with shock and excitement because of her opened eyes. His excitement filled face is enough to make someone's heart warm. 'The pain and effort I took to reach here are worth it'. So she thought in her mind. He almost moved into tears seeing her open eyes."Love, oh my God, you open your eyes. I will call the doctor right away" He pressed a button near the bed. A nurse came in within seconds, and that man asked her to call the doctor because the patient had opened her eyes. She nodded and ran to call the doctor."Love, I waited for this day for a long time. Thank you for not giving up." The man said with tears.Love, care, happiness, there are many emotions on his face. It is sure that this man values her and is really happy because she wakes up."Love, how are you feeling? Can you hear me? Are you in pain?" He kept on asking."W*..el" She wanted to ask for some water, but she couldn't spell it correctly. Not much sound came out of her throat even after applying so much effort whenever she tried to speak. Even though she wanted to give him answers and ask him a bunch of questions, at least before that, she had to make her throat comfortable so that she could talk without pain.Hearing her talking to him made him happy. He looked so intently at her to understand what she was trying to say. "You mean water? Just hold a little more. The doctor will be here soon," He said with a pained expression, clearly showing how much pain it caused him to reject her."Look, the doctor is here." He sighed and moved aside so that doctor could check her. Soon the doctor looked through the machines that connected to her body. He explained to the man next to her that she was perfect now. It is a significant change today. He kept on giving the man his examination results. Finally, after hearing everything, he had only one question."Can I give her some water?" That man asked the doctor. The doctor nodded, and the nurse brought a spoon and fed her water little by little. It took time, but it really helped her throat to feel at ease. According to the doctor, she seems fine. It is a miracle that she woke up."Where am I?" She managed to ask. "Hospital. You had an accident, and we are taking care of you," The doctor replied while adjusting his glass and looking at her with a kind face. "Who am I?" Everyone in the room was shocked by hearing that question.Beep beep beep...The continuous beeping from the machines connected to her body was the only sound that accompanied him when he was with her. He didn't feel annoyed because it was the only thing that made him sure she was still alive. But unfortunately, she was barely alive when he saved her that day, which made his heart hurt unbearable pain. She lay there motionless, connected with a bunch of machines. A lot of needles are injected into her body, a group of wires are attached, and even tubes are inserted.. He felt a heart-piercing pain, and tears filled his eyes, threatening to fall down. Then, sitting beside her and taking her pale hand in his big hand, he started to talk to her like always."Love, I am waiting for you here. I believe in you. You are a fighter, and you will come back to me. Please don't give up on us. Please fight for us so that we can live a happy life after that. I am waiting for you, dear. I am waiting for you," He said.Alexan
Charles White was on the way to the hospital to meet his daughter, who was in a coma. When he was about to enter the elevator, he got a call from his daughter's fiancé Alexander Smith; He told him the news he had wanted to hear for a long time. His daughter, Joanna, finally opened her eyes, which was an exhilarating moment for him. He shared this with his wife, who was along with him."Natasha, My daughter, Joanna, finally opened her eyes. The call was from Alexander, and he called me to give me this good news. I can't wait to see her." He said, brimming with joy. Hearing this news, his wife Natasha moved into tears. She was also following to meet their daughter today, and she got a piece of good news that she was waiting to hear, which made her contented. So She didn't mind how Charles again addressed Joanna as his daughter and always avoided her from their bond. After a month of long-suffering and never-ending bad experiences, they finally got good news today. Natasha
After hearing what Alexander said, Everyone understood his motive. They also nodded at Joanna like they also wanted her to have some rest."Ok", Joanna nodded obediently. She already felt like her head was about to burst and couldn't anymore hold on to the excruciating pain. She decided to listen to Alexander's words for now. He was at least the person she still remembers as her companion in those one-month long darkness. If it were not for his voice encouraging her, she would have given up her struggles a long ago and succumbed to the darkness.Even though Alexander knew Joanna was now completely forgotten about their relationship, at least she was willing to hear his advice made Alexander very happy and contented. He tried not to become disheartened just because she had a memory loss. He will stay on her side and help her through this phase too. If she lost memories permanently, then they can always make new ones.Even though it was the best thing that s
Thinking about the past incidents made Charles a little emotional. He stayed silent throughout the journey until they reached home. Natasha realised the gloomy mood of her husband and sighed. She could imagine how hard it hit him that Joanna chose to avoid him like that. "Maybe she really couldn't remember anything. Otherwise, she would never avoid her father like that. She loves you the most." Natasha tried her best to comfort the sad man in front of her even though she knew he didn't like her bothering him. "I am aware of Natasha's current situation, and I am a man; I know to handle my own emotions. However, you better control yours and don't do anything stupid. Make sure that you never dare to say anything unwanted in front of my precious daughter," As usual, he replied in a cold and heartless way without even looking at the pitiful woman standing there with a sad look. "I won't say anything. So you won't have to worry." She tried to explain once again. "Hmm", he nodded but did
When Alex was once again recalling his past with her, Joanna was inspecting his expression. She wanted to express her thoughts to him and reveal his importance in her life at this moment. But instead, the only memory was his encouraging voice which brought her back to life. She felt a special connection with him, but sadly she was unaware of their relationship. He indeed called her his love, but that didn't clarify their relationship. Is he her family? Boyfriend? Husband?Joanna wanted to inquire about their relationship but was struggling to find the right words that wouldn't offend this person who was kind to her and showed a lot of love. "Who am I to you? Even you influence me to keep trying to get out of my coma." She asked him after hesitating a while. Afraid of Alex being angry, she had a troubled look on her face, but she had lost her memories. She didn't know him, so it was apparent she didn't even know their relationship. Nevertheless, she wanted to know about him even thoug
Natasha was weeping in her room like a baby in White's house, making everyone feel bad for her. Charles, who came back to take a file, felt like his head hurt because of this. "Natasha, you should stop crying. Joanna already wakes up and is out of danger. You should be happy about that." He said in a plain yet irritating tone. "Sir, Madam lost her own daughter. She died in that accident. Even though she always treated two kids as her own, losing her flesh and blood will hurt a mother more than anything. Waking up of Eldest miss reopened her wounds that barely healed" Cathy, Natasha's favourite maid stood up for her and defended her actions. She has been with Natasha for a long time, and she has a special place in everyone's heart. But that shouldn't mean she can talk back to Charles, the Master of the house. "Are you trying to say since Natasha lost Jovie, Joanna should also have to die? Hm???" Charles's tone was dangerously chilly. Seeing a maid dare to talk to him in such a tone,
Charles slumped down on his chair while thinking about his daughters. After a busy day, he was too tired but still didn't want to return home. Opening his draw, he took out a photo of Jovie and Joanna when they were kids. Maybe his guilt towards making Joanna a motherless child because of his careless actions, Charles always prioritised Joanna over Jovie all this time. His partial attitude created a wall between them, and their relationship deteriorated to the point of no repair. Joanna was always with him and spoiled rotten by him and Natasha, whereas Jovie was precisely her opposite. She always liked to stay alone and rarely came home from the hostel. Unlike Joanna, who always stayed with them all her life, Jovie preferred to spend her time with her friends and always studied while staying in boarding schools. She was a total rebel, while Joanna was sweet and obedient; this made everyone love Joanna, and slowly Jovie's existence became negligible in their lives. Until this accident
Alexander had a good nap and woke up in high spirit. He looked at the pale figure sleeping on the bed, still holding his hands. His smile got more comprehensive looking at their interlocked hands. "I will make sure to protect you well in the future. I will give you everything you want," He whispered to the sleeping girl. She stirred in her sleep; seeing this, he caressed her face; she slowly opened her face and looked at his face. Slowly a small smile came to her face."You are still here; I thought you went out after I slept," Joanna said with a smile. "I won't. Even if I went out, I would make sure not to leave you alone," He said while caressing her face."Thank you," She said."Oh. Okay. I will just ask the nurse to accompany you for a while because I have an important meeting to attend. I am sorry, but I had to leave for a while." He said with an apologetic look. This time Joanna didn't make things hard and agreed to his request. "Okay," she said. Soon a nurse came to accompan
