Chapter sixty-six

Ethan’s POV

I smelt of Ariah, I just knew it and I had to get away from Layla fast before she could realize it.

I rushed up the stairs and into the bathroom of my bedroom, I ran a quick shower and in a little over five minutes, I was done. I slipped into a pair of slacks and a simple polo and headed down the stairs, I smelt like myself again.

It would have surely been an awkward situation to have Ariah's scent emanating from my body while I was having dinner with Ariah. Layla was waiting in the dining room, the table was set and embellished with brilliant candles and an array of different cuisines that were only seldom made for special events. Layla had certainly put the chefs to work on this one, I knew she wasn't the one who prepared all this.

Cooking wasn't a characteristic of the daughters of the wealthy, so I expected nothing more from Layla. She wore a melancholic mask and that made me wonder what had suddenly happened. I walked towards her and her eyes lightened up and glowe
