Chapter 61.

Marissa POV.

Walking through the camp, I move back to Jennifer. She may have done horrible things, but she was still my sister. My parent’s will pay for this. One of the guardians comes to me.

“Take her back to Snow Vale. Burn the rest.” I tell him as I turn and walk towards Robert. I choke on a sob as he engulfs me in his arms and I cry on his chest.

“This was the only way. We did what we had to.” I nod my head when a hear a giggle. Looking to the side, I see Shari walking closer with Athena in her arms. I move out of Robert’s hold as I run towards them and scoop her into my arms and cry.

“I will never leave you again. My brave girl, mommy is so happy you are safe.” I pepper her little face with kisses as she giggles. She doesn’t know how much danger she was in and for that, I’m grateful.

“Marissa.” I look up and see Damien standing at the side. I smile at him when Robert comes to stand behind me. I turn and look at him. He nods his head at me, knowing what I want to do.
